Chapter 102
Olivia’s POV
Thirty minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Vargas walked in, to see Allison monitoring Prez’s condition, while I sat not bothering to get ready. But the moment Vargas did walk in, I was on my feet, standing between Vargas and Prez. I need to protect Prez arid Allison. Prez because of who he is to me. but Allison because she is innocent, dragged into this because of me.
Vargas‘ eyes narrowed on me and growled, “Why the fuck aren’t you dressed yet?”
“Look, I know you brought Prez here to make sure that I behave. Right now, he needs my help, he needs medical treatment. So, right now, I am not changing into whatever dress you want me to wear when I can get blood on it, trying to keep him alive. You want me to get changed into that dress, then get me medical
supplies so I can help him first,” I responded.
Vargas‘ eyes narrowed on me, and he raised an eyebrow at me, “If you show this much care for people who aren’t blood kin, I can only imagine how much care you will show the children! will fuck into you”
“You can keep dreaming, but get those medical supplies for me, and then I will get changed.” I glared at him, folding my arms across my chest.
Vargas called out, “Eddie, get all the medical supplies that we have here.”
A man behind Vargas ran off. Vargas and I stared each other down. Neither of us moving, neither of us backing down. It was like a battle of wills. Who was going to yield first? Me or him?
Eddie walked in carrying a huge hard case red box. It looked like a tool box at first glance. I kept my gaze fixed on Vargas. Eddie placed it beside me, and turned to Vargas and said, “Sir, is there anything else I can
get for you?”
“Bring some water for them, then return to your post,” Vargas said, finally breaking eye contact with me. “She is impressive, sir. You choose a good woman to be your wife,” Eddie commented, before leaving the
r
room.
Vargas smirked, “Looks like you are earning the respect of my men already.”
“Respect no, fear yes. You and they are my enemies. I won’t hesitate to kill you all at the first opportunity I get,” I replied, keeping my face and tone cold.
Vargas tried to conceal it, but I noticed the slight tremble in his body, the fear that flashed across his eyes. There is a reason the Phoenix Knights are feared, and he is going to learn exactly why we are feared, before he draws his last breath.
“Who got you out of your restraints?” Vargas asked, like he was trying to point out something he had only just noticed. But it was clear that he was mentioning it because he was starting to fear what I could do.
“They were zip ties. I snapped them easily. I could have earlier if I wanted to or needed to. But as you saw,

Lean fult with my hands tied behind my back,” responded, with a shrug.
Eddied returned with bottled water and placed them down by the box he had placed on the floor for me, with the medical supplies. He quickly left the room, returning to his post, wherever that was.
“Just keep to your word. You have an hour, and then i will be back, and you had better get ready or be completely dressed,” Vargas said, his eyes narrowing in warning, before he turned on his heels and left.
As soon as the door was shut and locked, I grabbed the box and handed it to Allison, before returning to grab the bottled water. I returned to Allison and Prez. Allison was already going through the box. “Is there enough for us to be able to treat him?” I asked.
“It is more than I was expecting. There is an IV drip, so that will definitely help him. There is more gauze
and sutures. We can stitch the wound on his shoulder. But I wouldn’t risk the wound on his leg, without
blood. He is going to need a transfusion, I believe. We don’t have the blood here. I have an emergency
transfusion kit, but I don’t know his blood type,” she replied.
Shit, I don’t even know his blood type. I know my dad’s blood type, and I know Daniel’s blood type. But not Prez’s blood type. Prez whispered, “I can only receive blood from my own blood type. So, just do what you can to keep me alive for as long as you can.”
“Prez, did you want to write something for Mike and Katie, just in case?” I asked.
“Let the doctor do what she can to stabilize me first and then, if you can find pen and paper, I will like that,”
he replied weakly.
I could feel tears welling in my eyes, as I nodded in understanding. Prez reached for my hand and squeezed it. “Olivia, you are the bravest and strongest woman I know. You are going to make a great treasurer. You were born for this life. I hope Mike finds a strong woman like you. I hope Katie finds a good man, like Carnage is for you. Just help them find that. Help Devil win Phoenix back. They are perfect for each other, just like you and Carnage. Dry those tears and be strong for me and for them.”
“Okay, just hold on. I know they will be here soon. I can feel it I said, not letting go of Prez’s hand
“I am going to get to work now. IV first and then I will stitch your shoulder. Then I am going to see what I can do with your leg, even if it just means I put fresh gauze and apply heavy pressure. As that is all I may be able to do with your leg,” Allison interjected.
“Go for it, and don’t worry about hurting me. I can take the pain.” Prez gave her a gentle, reassuring smile.
Allison got to work, helping Prez. While I looked around the room, trying to see if there was anything we could do to get out or at least see outside. Prez’s hand slipped from mine, and my gaze snapped back to him. Allison whispered, “It’s okay, he just passed out. That is his shoulder done. Now, I will sort his leg out.
”
“Do you need my help for that?” I asked.
“I will call you if I need your help. Why? What are you going to do?”
