Chapter 126

Clivia’s POV-

Daniel wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me flush against him, as our song began to play. We picked “You Had Me From Hello” by Kenny Chesney. A country song that sums up our love at first sight story. Daniel suggested it, but asked me not to listen to it, he just told me it would describe our love at first sight story. He pulled me so close that his hot breath fanned/my ear, just before he started softly singing the song in my ear. I had never heard him sing before. It was clear he didn’t want anyone else to know that he could sing or that he would serenade me like this during our first dance. Boy, could he sing! His deep sexy voice sang so beautifully.

After a few lines, he pulled back to find tears slipping from my eyes. He kissed them away, and whispered, “Now, you know I can sing too.”

“Don’t you ever stop singing for me. And, I better hear you sing to the babies we have together,” I whispered back.

“I will sing for you on our honeymoon,” he smiled.

The song was nearing the end, when the guests were invited to join us on the dance floor. Daniel twirled around the dance floor for a few more songs, before my father stepped in, wanting to steal a dance from me. Daniel agreed reluctantly. I even shared a dance with Mike and Dragon. Daniel shared a dance with his mother and Katie. Mike danced with Katie. Mike did not look pleased when Wolf asked Katie to dance and she said yes. I could see it in the way Wolf looked at her. I could tell he was trying to hold back and stay away because I am assuming he knew that she was the Prez’s sister, who wants to stay away from this life.

Later on, a buffet was served. Daniel made sure I got something to eat, on the grounds that I was going to need my energy for tonight. We cut the wedding cake, and danced a lot more. I was over talking to the ladies, when Beth whispered, “Better get ready.”

“Ready for what?” I asked, a little confused.

“If your mother was a part of this world like you, then she would have prepared you. It is not my place to prepare you. But a tradition in the club during weddings, is for the groom to get on his knees and pull the garter off of your thigh, before taking you to your room,” Beth replied.
