The Phoenix Knights MC: Strength of Love (Rebecca Waters) novel Chapter 3

Daniel’s POV-

I have witnessed such a shift in Olivia’s behavior over the past few weeks. She is pulling away from everyone, slowly and quietly. It is making me wonder what is going on with her. Even her movements have been slower. It has made me really worried about her.

Why, because I like her.

I have had a crush on her since I first saw her freshman year. Not that I could ever bring myself to admit it.

My club brothers call me c*****e for a reason, because I absolutely cause c*****e whenever I lose my temper. I am devastatingly violent. I once lifted and threw a bike. One of my club brothers said I should have been called Hulk, because of that. I am a big guy, standing at 6ft 5, weighing nearly two hundred pounds of pure muscle. I work out a lot, and I train even more. It is expected at our club, and with me, being the son of the Vice-President, I have to train harder than most. I am the future Vice-President of the mother chapter of the Phoenix Knights.

For that simple reason, I have always hid all my emotions from everyone.

Olivia captured my attention with her beautiful bright green eyes. When the light catches them just right, they sparkle like little emeralds. They were truly breathtaking, but I had this sense that they felt familiar, not in the beautiful sense, but more like the color of her eyes felt familiar. I couldn’t understand why.

Olivia has this long raven that was just amazingly beautiful. I love it when she has it tied up, like she does right now. As for the curves of her body, the swell of her breasts, the roundness of her ass, it could make any man hard. I have jerked off too many times remembering her perfect body. Despite all that, she hides her beauty under baggy clothing and probably a little too much make-up. It has left me wondering whether she has a bad situation at home.

I have seen abused women and children plenty of times in my life, because of what the club does to help many people in those situations. She fits some of the behavior I have noticed of those women. It strikes a protective streak in me.

I want to be her hero, and I have never wanted to be anybody’s hero before.

When I watched her go into the public bathroom in one outfit and come out in a different, it made me believe what I suspected even more. Then seeing her try to slyly show her friends something inside her truck, which made her best friend, Megan, cry her eyes out. I knew then I had to find out more. Damn the bro code.

I say that because Mike, my best friend and future president of the club, is dating Sarah, the girl whose little posse bully Olivia. I hate it, but I have tried so very hard not to say anything for Mike’s sake. I will admit it has put a strain on my friendship with Mike. I don’t talk to him or confide in him like I used to. I know he has noticed it.

“Right, you need to tell me what the hell is going on with you, man? You just broke the biker code leaving us like that, without saying anything,” Mike said, referring to the fact that I had stopped when I saw Olivia’s truck and didn’t explain why.

“I am sorry, Mike. I just...”

“You just what?” he growled.

“I think something is going on with Olivia. I saw her in the carpark by the lake,” I replied, keeping my eyes fixed on Olivia.

“Man, you are always staring at her, do you like her or something?” he asked.

Now, right now, I don’t want to admit that I like her. I didn’t want anyone to know yet, at least.

I sighed, “I don’t know. I just get this sense of familiarity that I can’t place. Like her eyes, I feel like I have seen them somewhere before.”

“In someone else,” he said.
