Olivia’s POV-

We had just arrived for church after finishing school. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about last night.

Daniel has been all over me today. His hands never leave me, and ever chance he gets he presses kisses

wherever he can. I knew Daniel couldn’t stop thinking about it, he told me more than once. But now, I need to push all those thoughts aside for this church meeting. I knew it was going to be to discuss what we

learned last night from John.

I took my usual seat next to Daniel. Everyone was already here. They had been waiting for us to arrive from school. Prez banged his fist down on the table, silencing any conversations that were happening, not that there were many going on. “Listen up, after last night and the information CB has managed to get his hands on, I have decided that the run this weekend will still happen, but the other chapters and our allies are coming in, not only to celebrate a certain young Knight’s eighteenth birthday, but we are going to need all the help we can get if we are going to keep her safe.”

Daniel’s arm wrapped around me, pulling me closer to him, his protective instincts kicking in, as he growled, “What did you find out about that bastard?”

“I will get to that, Carnage. But I am glad you spoke up, because with the other chapters and our allies coming, you know what that means. You know what Phoenix goes through every time they come to visit,”

Prez responded.

My brow furrowed in confusion, but Daniel clearly knew what they meant, they all did. Daniel nodded, ”

Understood, Prez.”

What did Prez mean by that? Why did he direct that remark at Daniel? Was it something to do with being unclaimed? My dad explained to me how being an old lady would mean I am claimed, and they can’t touch me, but they would all try to push the boundaries if a woman was just the girlfriend of a Knight. It’s not seen as a full claim. Could that be what it is to do with? Did Prez just tell Daniel that if he is going to make me his old lady, he needs to ask me soon?

“They are going to begin to arrive this weekend, from Saturday, so Mike, Carnage, you both will be expected to keep on top of their arrivals with the help of Doc and Crusher Queenie, you are welcome to help them, but stay close to Carnage,” Prez informed us.

I nodded, “Understood.”

“Now, on to the very important part. Interrogation of John Jefferson, the man who was watching Queenie, has revealed the identity of the man who hired him to watch her. We are still looking for a connection to Queenie’s stepfather and step uncle to this man. All we do know is the story about forcing Queenie to be his wife, which matches with the marriage arrangement story that Harry Jones told Queenie. His name is Romano Vargas. He is a gun runner here in the states. He already has a police record a mile long, and is on the FBI’s most wanted list. As yet, they have been unable to get any solid evidence on him to nail him permanently, because people just disappear in cases against him. Romano Vargas apparently killed a man

upon hearing of how close Queenie is with Carnage. We do know that Vargas is in the city. He arrived yesterday from his house in Miami. We do know he had a lot of men on his side, thirty men alone got off the same private plane he did. Queenie will not leave the club without a minimum of a ten–man team

escort. Doc, I need you to go over Queente’s injuries again. We need her to start more intensive training as

soon as possible. We need to know if she can,” Prez’s booming voice explained.

Well, shit. Romano Vargas sounds like he has a lot of men. I can understand why they don’t want me to leave the club without that many men coming with me. I do worry about what guns he can get hold of, because if he is that powerful of a gun runner, he should probably be able to get his hands on military

grade weaponry. That is not good.

I will make sure to see Doc as soon as possible, because I need more intensive training. I need to be ready for whatever comes our way. Vargas doesn’t sound like he is going to give up on me, and he will likely go

after those that I care for to get to me.

“CB, Web is coming. Hopefully, you and he can team up with Queenie to find out more information over the weekend. For now, we continue on as normal, we increase security quietly, and above all, we keep our wits about us, dismissed,” Prez called out, banging his fist again.

I rubbed my face with my hands, keeping my face covered. Dad came over to me, and asked, “Are you okay, Princess?”

“Yeah, I am okay. Doc, when you free?” I stood up, looking towards Doc.

“Tomorrow, after you finish school, I can get your ribs x–rayed again, and we can see how you are doing. Eager to start training?” Doc smirked.

I nodded, “I need to be ready and time is short. CB, make sure to introduce me to Web, when he arrives,

and we get to work.”

CB chuckled, “You going to go full Nova?”

I chuckled, “Nova will come out to play. And, she already has some ideas about what to do next. But it will be faster to have your help too.”

“A Nova team up, count me in,” CB winked at me, which made Daniel growl.

Daniel stood up, and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me against him. I giggled, “So possessive.”

He leaned in close to my ear. His breath hot against my ear, as he whispered, “Of you, I will always be

possessive.”
