Olivia’s POV-
I arrived at my locker, with Benny and Megan. I opened my locker, and went to lift my bag into the locker. But a sharp shooting pain spread up my left side. I gritted my teeth and tried to push through the pain. It became too much, and I had to drop my bag.
Benny caught it and whispered, “It is okay, I will put it in there for you.”
It was nice that he did that, and that he didn’t say anything further. I can see that he is trying to help without letting anyone hear or see why I need help.
Megan was digging around in her bag and handed me some painkillers. “Take them, and try to eat something.”
I am very glad that I have them both here, watching over me. After the worst beating Harry ever gave me, I can say that I am very glad that I have them standing beside me. Rather than them being angry at me hiding this for so long, they have been nothing but supportive so far. At least I have them.
“Should you really be here?” Benny asked in a whisper.
I shook my head, and chuckled softly, “Probably not. But it is not like I can go home right now.”
“Will you go after school?” Megan asked.
I nodded, as I took the pain relief she had given me. As I did, I noticed c*****e watching me from his locker again. He always did, and he didn’t try to hide how much he was staring at me. I guess given his build and the fact that he is in the Phoenix Knights, no one would ever dare to ask him.
Benny chuckled, “Looks like you got a shadow.”
I chuckled, but Megan had to add, “Get it right. She has a Shadow Daddy.”
My jaw dropped as I turned to look at Megan. Oh, she and Benny have had s*x.
She smirked at me, so I threw a punch to her arm. The impact of the blow shot up my arm and caused pain in my ribs, making me wince. I shook my head, chuckling, as Megan and Benny, who had been laughing, stopped upon noticing that I had winced.
“f**k, I shouldn’t have punched you, that hurt,” I sighed.
“Maybe you shouldn’t be such a weakling,” the b***h, Sarah said.
Oh yeah, that is it. I am done.
For the past four years, I have ignored everything she has said, and she is still trying to belittle me. The one thing I am not is a weakling. Look at the damn bruises that I have, and I am still standing here.
I slammed my locker door shut, making everyone in the corridor freeze. I turned around slowly, crossing my arms across my chest, raising an eyebrow, and said, “Define weakling?”
Her mouth opened and closed a few times, like a fish, before she finally said, “You-”
I chuckled, smirking, “Your mouth opened and closed like a fish then, and clearly your brain is as small as one too.”
“You have never talked back to me before,” she hissed.
“Maybe I am finally done with your stupidity,” I said, watching her turn three shades of red.
I saw Mike try to step in to defend his girlfriend, but both Devil, another member of the Phoenix Knights, and c*****e grabbed him and pulled him back, shaking their heads. I think they were wanting to see how this was going to play out. I could see c*****e watching my every move, with a glint of pride in his eyes.
Sarah’s friend, Dana, stepped forward, raising her open palm to slap me across the face. I saw it coming, but I just stared her down, not afraid to be slapped. I have been beaten too many times by Harry to be bothered by a mere slap. The one thing he was never able to do and will never be able to do is break me.
She flinched seeing my reaction, but in the mere millisecond that she flinched, she didn’t stop coming.
At the last second, my hand shot up and gripped her wrist, blocking her strike. I shoved her hand and her away from me, as far as I could without wincing even more. She tried to step back towards me, but Megan got in her way, and said, “Try it again, and you deal with me.”
