Chapter 2063: The Visitation

A/N: Please check the previous Chapter. I updated it with more content.

Limbo [Present Day, 100 Million Years After The End Agreement]

In the deepest recesses of the Realm of Death, beyond the billionfold Regions, past the fractal infinities of harvested souls, where even the echoes of forgotten extinctions dared not linger, the Beast of Final Rest stirred.

For the past hundred million years, only the Beast had not made any advances towards the Origin Realms, and it seemed as if it had retreated from the battle, and no single specter of death had emerged from its realm.

However, in the depths of its realm, the Beast of Final Rest was evolving, or perhaps the word that should be used was devolving into something vaster, more primal.

This was not the same Beast that Rowan and the Ancient Primordials had met; it had begun this process in the past, and now it had crossed a threshold. The Beast had transformed into a colossal absence cloaked in the tattered shrouds of multiple endings. It had been gorging on Deaths for the last hundred million years.

Like the Ancient Primordials and the Abomination of Enoch, the Beast of Final Rest had seen the Origin Realms, and it understood the threat that it represented to it and its dominion. The Ancient Primordials, during their battle with it, had only seen the beginning of what it could become and not its final form.

Like every power at the peak of Existence, it knew that the expansion of Limbo was unprecedented, and thus it brought changes that could not be anticipated. At least for its case, there had never been any Death in Existence that was able to not only access the Origin of the previous Deaths, but also consume those Origins.

The Beast of Final Rest was a creation of the Temple of End. When the Temple had given the Primordials the plan to erase their minds of madness and escape from the plans of Enoch, they had also collected some of the Essence of Enoch from their bodies without the knowledge of the Ancient Primordials. They had used it in the creation of the Beast of Final Rest.

For a long time, the Beast had restricted its growth, displaying itself as just a force that could be managed by the Primordials, albeit a powerful force, but with the final war approaching, those restraints had been broken, and it was free to feast until it became the true left hand of the Temple of End.

Eos was supposed to be the right hand of the Temple, but the child had strayed far from his purpose. The Beast had tried to steer Eos away from this path with gentle words and subtle hints, but he refused to listen, and so the price for that stubbornness must be paid, and Eos would be crushed to the ground. If there were anything left of him when it was all over, then it would be remade into the vision that the Temple had for him.

Eos, Enoch, and the Ancient Primordials were not only the vestiges of the Luminious left behind, but the Beast was also one of those vestiges, and the more Deaths it consumed, the more its form shifted into a sprawling mass that stretched across dimensional voids like a shadow cast by no light.

It now had wings that denoted its Luminious origins, and they were wings of nothingness that swallowed the faint glimmers of residual Origin Force drifting across Limbo. When any lifeform would dread pulling power from Limbo, fearing the corruption of End, the Beast of Final Rest did not have any of these restrictions bothering it.

After feasting nonstop for a hundred million years, even a power like the Beast had to pause for a while for its body and consciousness to get used to the changes in its power. In many ways, its form was similar to Eos’s, where it did not just have the physique to hold multiple Origins, but also a vast domain from which it could draw power.

The Beast was the prototype created by the Temple of End as they researched the possibility of creating a being like Eos. Inside its heart, the Beast had always hated the fact that it was created as a placeholder for Eos, since it believed that it was always perfect, and if there was anyone who could perfectly wield the power of End, it was the prime candidate.
