Chapter 2181: A Truth Worth Recording (5)

The final words from Nyxara hung in the void like a curse, and Eos dread.

He was not surprised when Luminious Veil’s fading form dissolved into the fabric of Existence, her path a wound in reality that bled darkness into the light.

The body of the serpents should have held her, but she followed that pierced through Existence itself, thoroughly avoiding the barrier of flesh he had placed over the Hollow.

He was now realizing how lucky he was to have killed Memory due to the Luminious underestimating him, but Luminious Veil did not make the same mistake.

Eos watched her go, his hand still outstretched, the remnants of the corrupted Soul Origin dissipating in front of him like smoke.

"She was always part of him," Eos whispered, the realization settling into his bones like frost. "The Luminious are not separate beings. They are fragments. Pieces of a whole that was shattered at the beginning of everything."

Eos gasped as this ultimate truth was like a magnet drawing upon relevant truths that were scattered inside the impossibly vast landscape of Luminious Memory’s soul.

The memory of Memory, the fragments he had consumed, began to rearrange themselves in his consciousness. Not random data, but a pattern. A grand design that blew him away.

He had been wrong about the bloodline of Black Zenith; the Luminious were not a race, well, technically they were, but they could not be strictly defined by this rule.

They were more like a single being that had been broken apart by the power of End, scattered across the void between Existences, each fragment developing its own consciousness, its own hunger, its own need.

Without End, all of the Luminious would be fused together as one, but End was both their leash and their reason for existence.

It was a weird symbiotic relationship that made Eos rethink what he knew about the Painter, or the Great One, as the Luminious called this unknown being.

What was happening to Existence was just one of the changes that was shattering the fragility of all life; beyond that was something else that was beginning to happen, which was causing a disruption in the plans of the Luminious.

In the beginning, the Luminious had been shattered into pieces to grow, but now they were being brought back together.

After countless Existences, they were beginning to reunite, and this act of unity was creating a ripple effect that was sending chaotic reverberations all throughout the many Existences.

This was because only the consciousness of one Luminious would remain after all of them had been reunited.

There were three core Luminious, and Enoch was the last of the three core Luminious to be born. Nyxara was the second, and the first was still unknown, even to a Luminious like Memory.

To be the one whose consciousness would remain after the union was over, all three core Luminious made an Agreement; they were given specific goals and targets, and the one who lost would have to sacrifice their power to the one who won.

Nyxara, Luminious Veil, was the first core fragment to return to him.
