Chapter 278 Stuck in the Mountains

“Mr. Eric, Mrs. Nolan–it’s a boulder blocking the road.”

Daniel had actually been driving very carefully.

That rock looked like it had appeared out of nowhere, and the mountain visibility wasn’t great, so things went wrong.

But because he braked in time, they had already lost most of their speed by the time they hit.

So, no one inside the car was hurt.

But the front end was caved in.

Alice got out and checked the condition of the car.

Her expression sank slightly.

Alice lifted her eyes toward where Eric stood.

Daniel had wanted to call for rescue.

But deep in the mountains, reception was awful.

But he still couldn’t relax, pressing against the window to watch.

Under the headlights, a swarm of dark, slick, venomous snakes slid across the ground like flowing water.

Eric was already at Alice’s side.

His hands moved like machines.

Alice rolled to the side and landed beside Daniel in one swift motion.

“Daniel–get up!”

Daniel stayed crouched, red–rimmed eyes locked viciously on the direction the snakes were coming from.

As if he hadn’t heard her at all, he rushed straight toward it.

“Don’t go over there!”

Alice’s face darkened. After severing another snake, she sprinted over and grabbed Daniel by the shoulder.

A venomous snake–who knew how–had crawled onto Daniel. The moment her hand came down, the snake opened its mouth, fangs flashing cold.

Alice flipped her wrist instantly and clamped the snake at its vital point.

Then, she slammed it hard onto the ground.

Right after that, she grabbed Daniel by the arm and dragged him back toward the car for

cover.

Daniel finally regained a bit of clarity.

“Mrs…”

“Move first!”

Alice pinned down another snake.

But her wrist was bitten by its fangs.
