**Chapter 492: The Oliver Family’s Little Princess**
“Absolutely!” Kaizen interjected, his voice brimming with enthusiasm and pride. “I know countless exceptional young men hailing from the finest families—far superior to some certain individuals I could mention.” As he spoke, his sharp gaze intentionally drifted toward Lucas, a smirk playing on his lips.
Lucas felt a chill run down his spine, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he quickly straightened himself. “Grandpa, I promise—I will cherish Sloane for the entirety of my life. If it eases your concerns, I’ll sign a prenuptial agreement right this moment and transfer all my assets into her name,” he declared, desperation lacing his voice.
Kaizen let out a derisive snort. “Who cares about your money? Do you honestly believe our Oliver family is lacking in that department?” he scoffed, waving a dismissive hand.
“Exactly!” Jeffrey chimed in, nodding his head vigorously in agreement. But even as he spoke, a furtive glance was exchanged with the butler. “Go fetch the ‘Global Top Young Elites List’ from my study…” he instructed, his tone implying a seriousness that contrasted with the jovial atmosphere.
In that moment, Sloane, sensing the tension, flung herself into Jeffrey’s arms, clinging to his sleeve with a playful pout. “Grandpa, Lucas is so good to me. Let’s not change him just yet, okay?” she pleaded, her big eyes sparkling with innocence.
Jeffrey’s heart melted at her words, though he endeavored to maintain a façade of sternness. “Alright, alright—we’ll observe for now. But mark my words, I’ll be keeping a close eye on him,” he replied, his voice softening.
“Exactly!” Kaizen jumped in eagerly. “Starting tomorrow, he’ll be doing morning drills with me at five a.m. sharp!”
Lucas didn’t falter for a moment. “Of course, Uncle!” he responded, his voice steady despite the pressure.
“Who said you could call me ‘Uncle’?” Kaizen barked, though his tone softened as he caught Sloane’s tear-bright eyes gazing up at him. He cleared his throat awkwardly. “…At least make sure you pass a three-month probation period first.”
“Come on,” Jeffrey said, his excitement palpable as he took Sloane’s hand in his. “Grandpa has a special gift for you.”
“I’ve got something for you too,” Kaizen added, stepping up alongside her, a twinkle of mischief in his eye.
Together, they descended the staircase, with Kaizen and Jeffrey flanking Sloane like two proud guards protecting a precious jewel, while Lucas trailed behind, feeling somewhat like an outsider in this family affair.
“Too much? Nonsense!” Kaizen interjected, clapping his hands together with enthusiasm. “My gifts are even better!”
At that moment, a team of imposing bodyguards strode in, each carrying a heavy steel safe. As they opened the safes, the room was instantly illuminated by a dazzling array of jewels.
“This,” Kaizen declared with pride, “is the only pigeon-blood ruby necklace of its kind in the world.” He pointed to another open case, excitement radiating from him. “This emerald set was originally meant for your mother—but now, it’s yours.”
He gestured grandly toward the remaining treasures. “And all these diamond collections I’ve amassed over the years? They’re yours too!”
Sloane stood frozen, her mind racing as she took in the glittering treasures laid out before her. Overwhelmed with emotion, tears cascaded down her cheeks as she turned and flung herself into Jeffrey’s warm embrace. “Grandpa… Uncle… I’m so incredibly happy…” she sobbed, her joy palpable.
Jeffrey wrapped his arms around her, his own voice thick with emotion as he stroked her back gently. “Silly child… this is merely the beginning. I’m planning the grandest banquet in Stonebridge to announce it to the world—our Oliver family’s little princess has finally come home.”
