Chapter 199 Feels Like an Outsider
Chapter 199 Feels Like an Outsider
Why does Nina get to have such a perfect life?
She’s not only the heiress of the Tann family, but also has Jensen staying right by her side.
As for myself…
Katrina clenched her fists tightly as she stared at Chase, who no longer held any affection for her.

Now that the Mercer family was doomed to decline, and Chase had fallen out of love with her completely, there was no point in her staying here and wasting away along with them.
She needed to make plans and secure a way out for herself as soon as possible,
A certain man she had spent a night with suddenly popped into her mind.
A brilliant idea struck her at once.
Over at Linholt Airport, Audrey took the last flight of the day and arrived in the city deep into the night. A soft look of anticipation spread across her gentle face.
“Jensen, I’ve come all the way to find you. Are you happy to see me?”
Meanwhile inside Grey Group’s office building, a fountain pen slipped off Jensen’s desk and clattered to the floor. He bent down to pick it up, filled with a sudden unexplained sense of unease.
Right then, Nina pushed open the office door and set a stack of documents firmly down on his desk.
“Mr. Grey, may I clock out now?”
“Sure, you can head home.”
Jensen replied casually. It was already nine o’clock in the evening. If she stayed out any later, Marvin and Esther would surely start worrying about her safety.
“I’ll have Kent get the car ready. Go pack up your things.”
“Thank you so much.”
Nina kept up a polite smile on the surface, yet inwardly she was utterly frustrated. Ugh, that Jensen! He dumped three days worth of work on me all at once. Not even a workhorse could keep up with this pace!
Jensen reached for the intercom to contact his secretary, but Kent walked straight into the office the very next second with a troubled look on his face.
“Sir…”
“What’s the matter?”
Kent glanced awkwardly at Nina, clearly hesitating to speak freely.
Nina noticed his hesitation right away and offered to leave.

“I can step outside first if you need to talk privately.”
“There’s no need. Stay right here. There’s nothing you can’t hear.”
Jensen spoke in a calm steady tone. Still, Kent struggled to get his words out.
“It’s Ms. Audrey Beaumont… she’s…”
The moment he heard Audrey’s name, Jensen frowned deeply.

Before anyone could say more, the office door was flung wide open. Audrey tossed her luggage aside and rushed straight over to him.
“Jensen!”
Jensen instinctively tightened his fists, ready to push her away. But she pulled back first and broke into a bright smile.
“I came to surprise you! Aren’t you glad I’m here?”
“Who told you to come here?”
His tone was cold and distant, and Nina witnessed the whole scene clearly.
Audrey paid no mind to his cold attitude and tugged lightly at his arm, sounding a little aggrieved.
“I was so bored staying home all alone, so I decided to come see you. Halmont isn’t that far from here anyway. We can head back together in a few days.”
Watching the two grow close like this, Nina felt utterly out of place, like an awkward third wheel. “I think I’d better take my leave now.”
Her words instantly drew Audrey’s full attention. She sized Nina up and down quickly, then turned to question Jensen in a jealous tone. “Jensen, who is she? You promised me you wouldn’t hire any female assistants anymore.”
Faced with her constant pressing questions, Jensen gave a plain reply. “She’s just a regular employee of the company”
“Oh, alright then, I won’t be mad at you anymore.”
Audrey linked her arm through his in an obvious gesture to claim him as hers.
“I’m starving after the long flight. Take me out for dinner. I heard Linholt has loads of delicious local specialties. Let’s go try some regional dishes.”
“Fine,” Jensen agreed quietly.
She then turned to speak cheerfully to Kent, “Hurry go get the car ready! I want to taste the most delicious food in all of Linholt
Kent shot a helpless look at Nina before reluctantly agreeing
“Understood.”
“Let’s go, Jensen.”
Audrey’s eyes were fixed solely on him as she walked out of the office side by side with hom
