Back at the Tann Villa, Nina and Caleb had just walked in. Esther pulled Nina aside right away. “Nina, what’s going on with you and Jensen?”

Nina knew her mom would ask the second she got home. She told the truth. “Nothing’s going on between us. It’s just that Jensen’s fiancée came to Linholt, so he couldn’t drop me off.”

“Oh, I see.” Esther relaxed, patting her hand. “No big deal. His fiancée’s here now, so we should keep our distance anyway. You don’t have to go learn management from him anymore. We can teach you everything at the Tann Group.”

“I know, Mom.”

Caleb cut in, grinning. “Don’t act like she’s some eager student. Probably just said she wanted to learn on a whim, and she’ll lose interest in a few days”

Nina shot him a glare. “Caleb Rhodes, do you think everyone’s as flighty as you? I mean it when I say I wanna learn!”

“Alright, alright, you’re super serious!” Caleb laughed.

The two bickered playfully in front of Marvin and Esther, making them both smile.

Just then, Nina’s phone rang. It was a landline call. She stepped to the corner and picked up. “Hello?”

“Ms. Tann, Mrs. Mercer was just here,” the manager at The Solstice said on the line.

“Katrina?”

Yes. You told us to call you if she or Mr. Huntington showed up, so I phoned right away.”

Nina raised an eyebrow. So Katrina finally went there.

Nina blinked in surprise. Audrey wanted to meet her out of the blue. She hadn’t even glanced at Nina at Jensen’s office that day.

“Who’s texting you?”

“Audrey Beaumont. She wants to meet me.”

“Audrey? Why? You two don’t even know each other.”

“Probably sees me as a rival.” Nina shrugged. A woman’s intuition didn’t need logic.

She didn’t care for catty fights between women. Turning, she headed upstairs.

“Nina! You’re going to bed already? I came all this way to hang out, and you’re being so rude!” Caleb called after her.

“Night!” Nina replied over her shoulder.

She was too busy thinking about how to handle the meeting tomorrow. Audrey soon sent a message asking to meet at the café at nine the next morning.

Alright, better to get things straight. After all, there’s really nothing going on between Jensen and me.
