Liora’s POV

“What do you think you’re doing?”

Bianca rushed down the pathway like a bat out of hell. Upon reaching me, she grabbed my wrist so hard that her nails dug painfully into my skin, and tried to yank me away.

I held my ground. I put my free arm around Mia and drew her close, then lifted my chin and said firmly, “You can try to silence us, Bianca, but we’re not going anywhere.”

Bianca’s face reddened with rage, and she pulled her hand back as if to slap me. “You little—”

A shadow moved through the room before she could touch me. Callum appeared at her side and caught her wrist.

“No, Bianca.”

She whirled on him, eyes widening. “Baby—”

“Don’t call me that. You know I hate that nickname.” Callum released her wrist with a small shove and moved to stand by my side. Zane appeared, too, standing by Mia’s other side. The servant remained behind us, still wringing his hands nervously.

Ambrose let go of his fiancee’s hands and turned to look at us. “What’s going on here?” he called out, voice echoing through the vaulted chapel ceilings. “Why have you all interrupted my wedding?”

“We know what you did, Ambrose,” Zane said. “You tied Mia up and left her in a closet.”

A gasp rippled through the audience. Even the priest took a step back, pressing his hand to his chest in shock.

Ambrose lifted his hand to calm everyone. His smile was all teeth as he said calmly, “I did no such thing.”

“We have the ropes and gag to prove it.” Callum held up the evidence for all to see before he threw them on the ground. They landed right in front of the altar.

I stepped aside and gently nudged the servant forward. “This man told us that you forced him into helping you,” I announced. “That you threatened to abuse him and his girlfriend. Not to mention the fact that you apparently keep all your servants here like slaves.”
