The Rejected True Heiress (Liora and Callum) novel Chapter 383

I nodded, knowing she was right. Those rogues might still be out there, potentially waiting to ambush another student like they had done to me.

In halting sentences, I recounted everything. I told the headmistress about the incident, as well as the descriptions of the rogues as best I could recall.

When I was finished, I looked up at her. Her brows were knit closely together and she looked alarmed.

“What is it?” I asked, sitting up a little straighter.

“It’s just…” She shut her notebook, where she’d been jotting everything down. “Well, if I tell you something, can you promise not to repeat it?”

I nodded.

The headmistress took a deep breath. “That rogue you described—the larger male. Some other students mentioned him before.” She clasped her hands together on the desk and lowered her voice. “Apparently, the Princess was seen talking to him by multiple students.”

My brows shot up. Not just at the mention of Bianca talking to one of the rogues who had attacked me, but the way the headmistress said that word.

Princess.

Like she knew that Bianca was using a fake title.

My lips parted, and for a moment, I just looked at the headmistress. She looked back, and I saw that same thing I’d seen that night she spoke to me after the incident in the training center. That… knowing gaze.

I swallowed, my mouth suddenly having gone dry.
