The Roquets & Formale Alpha

Chapter 533

Snowflakes

Cruelty in broad daylight is the sharpest kind. The sort that doesn’t hide in shadows or wait for darkness to cloak it.

It stands bold under the sun, smiling politely while it drives the blade in exactly where it will hurt most.

An enemy who knows you intimately doesn’t swing wildly; they aim for the old fractures, the scars you’ve spent years convincing yourself have healed. They punch there, again and again, until the wound reopens and bleeds fresh.

Viviana looked me dead in the eyes, hatred blazing because she had lost this round, and decided the only way to reclaim ground was to drag my buried past into the light and weaponize it.

All the air left my lungs in a rush. The fleeting triumph I’d felt moments earlier evaporated, leaving only hollow shock.

I stared at her, wondering where she found the audacity. How could she say those things? My rape, the very one she had orchestrated?

What did you say?Kashi’s voice broke the stunned silence, incredulous and rising. What?

I swallowed hard, blinking rapidly to hold myself together. If I stayed another second, I might collapse into a coma or lose my mind entirely.

I turned to Father, bowed quickly, and fled, rushing out of the house and sliding into the backseat of the waiting car.

It pulled away almost immediately. The interior was luxurious, soft leather, perfect temperature, every comfort imaginable but none of it reached me. I couldn’t settle. I wasn’t calm.

I closed my eyes, trying to push the ache away, but vivid flashes assaulted me. The brutal tug, the stinging slap, the crushing hit, the choking grip, then the forced violation that tore me open. The mocking laughter echoingand the relentless thrusting, again and again and again.

It was my deepest wound, my darkest memory, one I had sealed shut, locked away, and thrown out the key. But now it was ripped wide open, raw and bleeding.

Snow? Snow?

A tender touch on my arm jolted me back to reality. I blinked rapidly, breath shaking as the world refocused.

The car had stopped on a quiet stretch of highway. Cupid stood at the open door, waiting for me to step out, concern etched deep in his features.

I must have zoned out for far longer than I realized.

He crouched to my level, eyes searching mine.

Chapter 533-

Snow, are you all right?he asked softly, cupping my cheek.

I sighed, trying to settle. nodded.

I’mI’m sorry,I murmured, but he clearly didn’t believe me.

He straightened, took my hand gently, and led me out. With his palm resting protectively at the small of my back, he guided me to his own car and opened the passenger door for me to settle in.

I’ll be right back,” he said softly. I nodded.

He closed the door and retrieved my bag and the lunch Sera had packed from the other vehicle. I watched through the windshield as the chauffeur bid him farewell with a respectful bow.

Cupid stowed my things in the backseat, then slid behind the wheel beside me. The chauffeur drove off, leaving only our car on the deserted highway.

I expected him to start the engine and continue, but he didn’t.

He sat in silence, gazing ahead. Finally, he turned to me, eyes settling on my face. I swallowed hard and lowered my gaze, trying to hide everything churning inside.

We’ll be late to the parish,I murmured softly.

He didn’t budge.

What’s wrong?he asked, voice gentle but firm. Are you upset about the attempted coordinator swap?

I swallowed again, shaking my head. He reached over, tenderly tucking a stray strand of hair behind my ear, his tone softening further.

Then what is it? You sounded lively this morning.

I nodded slowly, then let out a shaky sigh.

I’mfine. Let’s go. The nuns and Priest Johan will be waiting

You think I care?he cut in sharply, concern unwavering. I lifted my eyes to his, seeing he wouldn’t move an inch until I opened up.

Cupid.

You weren’t like this even yesterday. Something’s wrong, and you’re going to share it with me.

I blinked, shaking my head in denial. I tried to shrug it off, fought to bury it but the tears came anyway, trailing hot down my cheeks.

I broke into quiet sobs, leaning into his arms without a word. He held me, stunned at whatever had caused this collapse.

Shh, it’s all right. It’s okay. I’m here now,he whispered, patting my back soothingly until the sobs

subsided.
