I’d lived with the Frost twins most of my life. I knew the exact moment one of them entered a building. The air changed. The pressure changed.
Itened toward the corridor.
My heart leapt then plummeted.
Kashi.
And beside him… Viviana.
“Why is he here with her?” Quince muttered, appearing at my side.
I couldn’t answer. My voice was gone.
I watched them step into the elevator. Kashi’s posture straight and protective, Viviana’s head high buf shadowed. The doors slid shut.

Eshan emerged from the office, joined me at the corridor railing, and a small, dangerous smile curled the corner of his mouth.
“Good,” he murmured. “I love this.”
He peeled away, heading straight for the interrogation room.
Quince and I shared one heart-stopping look before we bolted for the observation room.
We arrived just as Viviana settled into the chair. Kashi stood behind her arms crossed, expression unreadable.
My own brother… standing as her lawyer?
The door opened again. Eshan walked in. He crossed the room without hurry, sank into the chair across from Viviana.
Silence stretched thickly, wrenching. I hated it. The Frost brothers facing off like this, on opposite sides of the table, on opposite sides of everything.
“I didn’t know you’d hire a lawyer on such short notice,” Eshan said calmly. “Feels like you’ve been expecting a summons from H.O.W.L.”
Viviana swallowed. A flicker of sadness crossed her face, carefully placed, almost theatrical.
“Where were you on the night of the Dark Alley case?”
The question landed like a stone in still water.
I waited, breath held, for her answer.
Kashi spoke instead quietly, firm.
“Home.”
Eshan slowly lifted his gaze to his twin.

Tension crackled between them, electric, painful.
Esan let out a short, disbelieving scoff.
“Shit’s happening here. I can’t believe I’m talking back to a crazy lawyer who has my face.”
He leaned forward slightly.
“Beyond the dark alley, there’s a small hotel. They had a camera four years ago. The footage, why did you pay them to wipe it?”
Viviana went quiet again. Then softly, almost fragile she answered.
“I only asked them to change the camera. I know nothing about any footage. It was old. Rusty. Out of kindness I told them to replace it…”
“Really?” Eshan tilted his head. “Because the camera was rusty? You decided to pay…” He looked up, eyes flicking to Kashi. “Does your lawyer know how you paid for that? Hmm? Did he?”
Silence fell. Thick, suffocating.
I watched with bated breath.
“If that’s all,” Kashi said quietly, “we’ll be on our way.”
Viviana stood. Kashi placed a light hand at her back protectively, professionally and guided her toward the door.
Eshan didn’t move for a heart stopping second and I can feel the storm was coming.
Eshan never lost a battle.
Kashi never lost one either.
Eshan set his jaw, hard, then stood abruptly and followed them out.
I knew fire was about to ignite.
I bolted from the observation room, rushing to intercept before it exploded.

Chapter 649
Snowflakes
“I will sue the Daylight company for airing news without proper permission,” Eshan said, voice low and dangerous as he slowed his stride in the corridor.
Kashi paused, turned smoothly on his heel, and gave a single, calm nod.
“It wasn’t Daylight News that first aired it,” he replied evenly. “But go ahead and sue them if you want.”
“Really?” Eshan’s smirk was sharp, venomous. He stepped forward, chest rising, ready to close the distance.
I moved faster.
“Eshan that’s enough. Please.”
I slipped between them, took his hand, and squeezed hard. His fingers flexed in mine, tense, trembling with barely leashed fury but he didn’t pull away.
I turned to Kashi, searching his face, trying to find the brother I knew in the stranger standing before me.
“What’s going on, Kashi?”
He didn’t answer.
Didn’t even meet my eyes.
Instead he turned quietly, deliberate and started walking away. Viviana followed, her gaze sliding to mine for one brief second. I’d swear I saw the corner of her mouth lift, just a flicker, a smirk. before she turned and matched his stride.
I couldn’t let it end like that.
I rushed forward, blocked Kashi’s path and planted myself in front of him.
“Kashi, what are you doing?” My voice cracked. “Why are you here taking her side? Why is Mirena blocking the news from airing? Why are you doing this to me?”
Desperate questions poured out raw, pleading.
He still wouldn’t look at me.
Eshan’s voice came from behind, low, accusatory.
“He won’t do it.”
Kashi finally stopped. Turned slowly. Met Eshan’s gaze with quiet, unshakable calm.
“So?” he said softly. “What if I don’t want to? Daylight News won’t participate in entertaining any of the Dark Alley case. You have your sweet gossip feeds to do the job. Why are you complaining? Without Mirena, you know
you can’t get the news to all and sundry.”

Chapter 649
That was the challenge.
shan’s face twisted in disbelief, rage, betrayal all at once.
“You think so?” he scoffed. “Without Mirena to air the truth, no one will hear? You want to compare her fan page to Pinky’s if she creates awareness against rape? Should we try and see?”
Silence crashed down thick, electric.
Kashi set his jaw. Held Eshan’s stare for one long heartbeat.
Then he turned away. Viviana falling in step beside him and walked out.
The corridor felt suddenly too small, too airless.
I stood frozen, watching them disappear around the corner.
