The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 1206

Chapter 1206: Dropped Off

Well, that was definitely unexpected.

Kyle turned the terminal so Ollie could see before accepting the call. The projection flickered to life, revealing a visibly frazzled Owen sitting stiffly on the edge of his bed.

"Brother-in-law..."

He quickly apologized for calling so late before admitting there was something he desperately wanted to ask.

"What happens if I accidentally get a stomach bug tomorrow and can’t go?"

The younger heir to House Nox blinked in momentary confusion.

Owen hurriedly explained that he knew he was supposed to be the owner and test pilot of the mecha, but after hearing everyone talk about how excited they were to see what his older brother had built and how proud everyone would be, he’d started getting cold feet.

He already knew he didn’t actually have to do very much, and he had been in high spirits for quite a while—so much so that he had even forgotten his responsibilities while taking in everything he had witnessed. But now that he was being reminded it would all happen the moment he woke up, all he could think to do was delay sleep for as long as possible. If he didn’t close his eyes, then when he woke up, it still wouldn’t be time for the demonstration... right?

And what if he really got sick?

What if his body decided to betray him tomorrow?

He’d called Kyle instead of Ollie because he was certain his brother was already asleep—as he was the type to always be asleep—and because he had a feeling his question would only worry his already tired brother.

Unfortunately for him, that assumption lasted all of three seconds.

"Owen!"

The booming voice that suddenly erupted from the terminal startled the youngest Mylor so badly that he nearly fell straight off his bed.

He stared at the projection in complete disbelief.

His brother was awake.

Even worse, his brother had heard everything.

The supposedly older and more responsible (?) adult immediately pointed a finger at him through the projection.

"Even if I have to revive you myself, you’re showing up tomorrow if you know what’s good for you!"

Ollie spoke with complete sincerity despite sounding as dramatic as ever.

"So don’t even think about stomach bugs. And if you really do feel sick tomorrow, then go see Brother Luca so all those ailments can get scared away. Coming to see him for yourself is always better than making Luca come after you."

Owen stared at him as though he were reliving some sort of trauma.

"You’re kidding... right?"

The blonde looked him dead in the eye.

"I wish."

Watching the exchange unfold, Kyle quietly decided that the giant kid might genuinely start fearing for his life if Ollie kept talking like that.

Stepping in before the poor boy spiraled any further, Kyle smiled reassuringly.

"Owen, just show up tomorrow and don’t think about so many things. Focus on what you’re going to do with your new toy."

His smile widened slightly.

"It’s impressive enough that even if all you did was take it out of the space button, you’d probably amaze yourself."

Those simple words eased the knot that had been tightening in Owen’s chest all evening.

Sure enough, he’d been right to call his brother-in-law.

Kyle really was much gentler.

Then again, no one could ever replace his actual brother, because beneath all the outrageous threats and relentless exaggeration was someone who had spent days creating a one-of-a-kind mecha just for him.
