The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 1236

Chapter 1236: Under the Radar

As if simply asking the Elves could be considered a legitimate option!

Sure, they technically had access to certain Elves, but certainly not the kind who’d willingly distribute such shady paraphernalia with the very clear intention of messing people up.

Surprisingly, before Prince Elior could even react to the revelation—his expression looking less shocked and more burdened by a heavy sense of resignation—it was Princess Kira who reacted in full force.

"What?!"

The Orcish Princess practically exploded.

Her aura flared so violently that her already fiery hair looked like it’d genuinely been set ablaze, and judging by the murderous expression twisting across her face, one would’ve thought someone had just personally informed her that her greatest enemy was waiting right outside the door.

Of course, it wasn’t because Kira still carried the same long-standing issues she’d once had with Elves in general.

No.

Her thoughts had simply shot straight toward one very specific individual who, in her opinion, already deserved a long and torturous death even before someone decided to add something this nefarious to his ever-growing list of possible crimes.

The clearly agitated Orc gritted her teeth.

"It’s that blasted Eren, isn’t it?!"

Killian, who’d already expected something like this to happen the moment he mentioned the Elves, kept his expression remarkably composed.

"That’s what we’re trying to find out," the Chief of Staff replied evenly. "But as unfair as it might sound, even if it wasn’t directly him, it’d be difficult to believe he knew absolutely nothing about it."

"!"

The atmosphere immediately became heavier.

And that was precisely why Killian hadn’t wanted to say too much before they had anything concrete.

Because as expected, something like this wouldn’t affect relations with the Elves alone.

His gaze briefly shifted toward Prince Elior and Rahil, both of whom would inevitably be dragged into whatever came next simply because of their connection to the Elven royal family.

And Princess Marin?

Killian didn’t even want to imagine how the young Elven Princess would react upon hearing that her older brother might’ve caused trouble yet again.

But for now, all they really had were the pieces of information they’d managed to squeeze out of the Luxastra twins. It wouldn’t do them any good to develop tunnel vision and immediately pin everything on one person when the investigation was still in its early stages and they hadn’t even finished organizing the people who’d verify whether those claims held any weight.

Unfortunately for one particularly deranged Elven Prince, his past track record wasn’t exactly doing him any favors.

Even if they were working with little more than speculation at the moment, there was absolutely no way they wouldn’t check for his involvement.

In fact, the more Killian considered what they’d learned, the more it offered a rather unsettling explanation for something that’d been bothering them for quite some time.

Prince Eren had been unusually quiet.

After several of his earlier plans had been foiled, they’d naturally expected him to try something else. Yet rather than escalating, retaliating, or even throwing another one of his infamous tantrums, the Elven Prince had seemingly gone dormant.

At the time, they’d simply assumed that perhaps he’d finally learned to exercise some caution.

Now?

If Eren really had something to do with the incense burner, then his unusual silence suddenly made far more sense.

After all, why would he need to make another loud move when something considerably more insidious might’ve already been circulating behind the scenes?

Still, no matter how suspicious everything looked, Killian refused to let that possibility become a conclusion before they’d properly investigated it.

"That is their version of a drug. It just happens to come in this form, which makes it easy to activate and even easier to distribute."
