The guild members did expect a good number of people the moment they received the Private Job Bookings.
And frankly, they’ve likely attended events bigger than this, but that was just it. Most of them were only attendees.
So, just how were they going to launch such an event with just this many hands?
Thankfully, people like Butler Gary, Steward Han, and Head Maid Gloria existed.
The biggest problem with this being a guild venture was that they weren’t allowed to farm out non-specialist work and could not outsource more than the number of their registered members.
And that meant they could only add five more people on the ground.
Five.
And all these spots were taken by two Beast Specialists and three of the Duchy’s best and bravest groomers.
Now, the rules sounded harsh, but it’s only because DG only has five members. And it’s the smallest registered Guild.
For if such a rule didn’t exist, then those with hundreds of members would be able to double their forces just with their family’s backing.
But just because they couldn’t get help from the ground didn’t mean that they couldn’t get help when inside the space, or in this case, the Sanctuary.
And this was where the Manor’s Staff really shined.
While they could not prepare everything like their Young Lord or the practiced Steward Han, they were fast on the uptake and were good at things like plating, cleaning, and watching over the progress of the slicers.
But their work stopped for a moment when the heir came back into the space ahead of schedule.
"Lord Luca, is there a problem?" Asked the concerned Butler Gary.
"Oh no, no! Everything is fine." Luca waved his hands while reassuring everyone.
"It was just that we have our first young customer, and I thought of doing a little something extra."
And that was definitely Xavier’s sister. However he looked at her, this was a very smiley version of his husband.
So, did that mean that they were in-laws?
Yes. That’s how it works, right?
Then maybe a little something for the kids, so no one would scream favoritism.
Luca decided to change up the apples into rabbit apples, and everyone watched as he manually cut up the fruit.
And much to the amazement of the Manor’s Staff, the same apples were cuter than earlier and looked even more wonderful considering who personally cut them.
But their amazing heir did not stop there as they watched him prepare the stove. In went sugar and some water. Then, Luca washed and dried a few strawberries and grapes, only to skewer them with those little sticks right before dipping them into the pan.
"I’m trying to make candied fruits." He smiled at everyone who stopped to watch what he was doing.
"And if you dip this in ice water, it’d solidify and would be ready to eat." He spoke as he demonstrated.
Then he held up the fruit that looked much shinier and smelled sweeter.
"If you guys are interested, we still have a few fruits over here, and there’s still a good amount of sugar water, so you can try it for yourselves." Beamed Luca, who prepared to plate the goodies he just made.
"!!!"
It was obviously a hit. And the kitchen helpers thought how they really had the best job!
Luca’s approach wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, as he, like Jax, wore the uniform they had decided to use for today’s soft opening.
And so, when the slightly different fruit platter landed before the unsuspecting Princess, it easily garnered the interest of many.
"Greetings, Your Highness. Our facility has prepared a treat for our much younger clientele, although if you would much prefer the House special, I would happily get that for you." Smiled Luca as he gestured to the little Princess.
"!!!"
Wow.
What a great establishment!
Fluffy, delectable, and absolutely worth every Star Coin spent, if you asked Princess Nina, who could probably fly with how much twitching her ears had been doing.
Honestly, all the patrons thought that the show was over. After all, Earl Nolan’s stream only talked about the refreshments, which everyone thought was good enough.
But when the members were alerted to today’s brunch, the people were looking at each other with wide eyes.
To begin with, what was Brunch?
And were they getting these because they were currently VIPs?!
Yes and no.
And as expected, someone ended up asking.
"My Lady, as new members, you are entitled to a welcome meal. While the Top 500 or the VIPs would continue to enjoy this service about twice a month."
This was Xavier’s idea. It was one thing to be told what you could possibly get. But another to experience it and get an all consuming kind of desire to keep the perk.
And so came today’s meal: Pancakes.
But in reality, this wasn’t just for the members; it was Luca’s first massive attempt at actually combining ingredients from the space with ingredients available commercially.
Baking Soda and Baking Powder.
Luca had been buying these ingredients from the Trove to make cookies. But if they were ever planning on expanding even more, that would just not work.
Not to mention how his heart would bleed for every meal he would have to serve.
And so the little money grubber prayed for Science and hoped that Sodium Bicarbonate meant the samething over here.
Thankfully, it was.
The only downside was the Duke hearing about it and deciding that one must hoard for his precious son’s experiments.
