Holy f***k, is this really happening? Am I really watching Deidra pretend to be my kid’s mom? Did she just call me her baby daddy?
What a fu.cking thrill.
I wasn’t even in the bathroom for five minutes. I told Waylen to wait right outside the door for me. Of course, he didn’t. Not that he went far, but still. I thought it would be okay since Adam and the boys were with us. But they’re on the other side of the store, past this wall. Not sure why Waylen even came over here instead of running towards the boys.
Did he see Deidra and stage this whole thing?
The longer I took in the scene, the more I knew that wasn’t true. Waylen was thoroughly pi.ssed. I doubt he stirred trouble on purpose when he could just talk to Deidra if he saw her. The anger he has on his little face is real. And when that bit.ch raised her hand like she was going to hit Thorn, I saw red. She’s fu.cking lucky we ain’t in our town. Not that we hit women, but I could make this bi.tch pay in some way.
Everything that happened after I walked into the situation was purely improvised. I went along with the narrative that Deidra and Waylen had already set. Apparently, we were together, and I won’t even think about how happy it made me. Or how good Thorn felt pressed against my side. That normal honey and vanilla scent that’s all Deidra, engulfed me. This was the closest we’d ever been. Except for the night her parents died, but that wasnt under good circumstances.
I thought we’d just make a show of being a united font and walk away, but apparently this bit.ch had things to say. Not sure why my relationship matters to her so much. It pi.ssed me off. I was ready to cuss her a.ss out and storm out of there. We didn’t owe her sh.it. We didn’t have anything to prove. f***k her.
But then Deidra did it. She kissed me. She was the one that grabbed me first. It’s all her fault for pressing those juicy lips against mine. All her fault. ‘m even blaming her for me pulling her back in.
I just couldn’t help myself. Deidra felt so good. Way too good. I wanted more. I didn’t care about anything else in that moment aside from feeling her lips against mine.
And now here we are, making out in the middle of the store as the employee gawks at us and my son clings to his fake mother. I didn’t give a sh.it though. Couldn’t give a sh.it. Not with how good Thorn feels. Not when she’s moving her lips with mine, kissing me back.
My tongue slipped out, licking her bottom lip. Much to my surprise, Deidra opened up. I slipped my

tongue inside her mouth, tasting how sweet she was. She tastes like hot cocoa and blueberry muffins. It’s delicious, and I want more.
wrapped one arm around Deidra’s waist again, holding her close to me. My other hand gripped the back of her neck, angling her head so I could kiss her deeply. She clutched my coat under my cut. Clutched. Not pushed me away. She held on. Like her life depended on it.
And then, the most amazing thing happened. She moaned. It was a little sound, but I felt it vibrate through her throat. It was damn se.xy, and I was seconds away from tossing her over my shoulder and taking her to the bathroom just to have my way with her. But I couldn’t do that. I knew I couldn’t. My son’s right here after all.
So, I pulled away. Slowly. Reluctantly. I didn’t go far, my eyes flickering between Deidra’s lips and her eyes. She was panting, and her face was flushed red. It made her splattering of freckles stand out. It made me want to kiss her all over again.
I can’t fu.cking believe that I just kissed Deidra Hartman. My Thorn.
“What a good show!” The bit.ch said sarcastically as Deidra and I just stared at each other. “You
two are-”
“Let’s go get lunch,” I said to Thorn, pretending like the bit.ch wasn’t even there.
“T–together?” she whispered.
A smile spread across my face as I rolled my eyes at her.
“Well, I gotta feed my kid and my baby momma,” I told her, making her blush more.
“Jinx, you don’t-”
“Come on,” I cut her off. “It’ll make me and Waylen happy.”
“Okay,” she replied reluctantly.
I beamed at her as I took a step back and grabbed her hand. Waylen grabbed her other hand, and
we were about to drag her out of the store if we had to. Thorn took a couple of steps before
stopping and turning her head to look at the bit.ch,
“If I ever hear you ever talk to my kid, or any other kid for that matter, the way you just did again… I’ll make you regret it. I mean that. I’ve threatened far scarier people over him than you and I ain’t afraid to follow through. Humble yourself before I do it for you.”
With that, we marched out of the store. Now I was being dragged by her and my kid. A huge smile
was plastered on my face. I can’t believe Thorn pretty much just called me her ol‘ man. Or how fu.cking happy it made me.
“Dad, let’s go there!” Waylen shouted as he pointed to a restaurant across the street.

I looked back into the store, catching Adam’s eyes. He looked at me, down to mine and Deidra’s entwined hands, and then back to me again. He raised an amused brow. I flipped him off and gestured that we’d be across the street. After giving me a nod, I took my little “family” to the small
restaurant.
The host was nice as she sat us at a booth. Waylen sat opposite of me and demanded that Thorn sit with him. Our waitress brought us all water and a kid’s coloring menu for Waylen. She made flirty eyes at me, which I ignored. I was still in shock over what just happened. All I could think
about was how to get Deidra to kiss me again.
“Anything aside from the beer?” Our waitress asked me. I was too busy gawking at Thorn to even reply to her, let alone look at her. It was a miracle that I was able to spit out what kind of beer l
wanted. “Anything at all?”
“For f***k’s sake, just go get us our drinks,” Deidra snapped at her, clearly irritated.
“Hmmm, your sister’s not very kind,” the server muttered.
“She’s my ol‘ lady,” I blurted. Deidra’s face flamed and so did mine. I felt like a fu.cking id.iot, but it was too late. Either I backed off like a pansy, or I played into it, giving it my all. So, I finally looked at the waitress. “Not my sister. My girl. My baby momma,” I said, earning a snort from Thorn.
The waitress gave me a tight smile before scurrying off. I looked at Deidra again. She was coloring a rainbow on Waylen’s page. I loved the way the two of them looked together. Waylen looked way happier than he ever had with Glory.
“Women really act like that with you everywhere you go, huh?” Deidra finally spoke up, her hazel
eyes glancing at me.
“Yeah, unfortunately,” I replied. “I don’t know how to make them stop.”
“Bit.ches be crazy,” Waylen muttered, making Deidra choke on her water.
“Waylen, what the f***k! Language,” I scolded him.
“That’s what Uncle Villain always says,” he mumbled, frowning at his coloring page.
Thorn chuckled, much to my surprise.
“Your uncle Villain is an id.iot,” she said. “A kind man but very stupid.” Then she looked at me. “Kid has a point though. They always seem to take it to an extreme with you and Waylen.”
“Well, Waylen doesn’t help the situation much,” I said, giving my son a look that he ignored.
“I don’t blame the kid,” Deidra said. “He gets singled out because of you and the club all the time.”
“I know, but what do you want me to do?” I replied. thought things would be different during the vacation, but… I guess not. I can’t just not wear my cut either.”

“You shouldn’t have to,” she said with a furrowed brow. “Just try to look menacing and unapproachable. Like War.”
“You want me to be more like War?” I asked.
“No, but you could try to be more menacing,’ she replied, making me snort.
“You think War don’t got his fair share of lady problems?” I asked her.
Deidra gave me a flat look.
“How about Dra pretends to be my mom and your ol‘ lady?” Waylen chimed in. We looked at him; my heart racing, Thorn’s face bright red. “Just for this trip? So we can have a good Christmas. Please?”
Deidra looked at me again, her face was red, and her eyes were wide. She looked at me like she was asking for help. I didn’t want to give it to her. So… I just… didn’t.
“If Thorn’s okay with it,” I said.
She gave me a flat look just as our server came back with our drinks.
“I asked for an iced tea,” Deidra said as she looked at the dark soda in front of her. “And so did the kid.” She added, looking at the steaming cup of hot cocoa with a mountain of whipped cream.
“Oh come on, let the kid live a little,” our server said, earning a glare from Deidra. “And you could use-”
“I’m gonna stop you right there,” she cut the server off. “Take this sh.it back and bring back what we asked for. As a matter of fact, I want a different server. One that’s going to bring me our orders and not whatever she feels like my son and I should have. So, go do that before I get pissed off, and you end up wearing these drinks.”
My lips twitched as our server huffed and stomped off. Thorn looked at me with clear annoyance.
“See, when Dra’s with us, people back off without me getting in trouble,” Waylen said.
I looked at her with a raised brow, waiting for an answer.
“Can I… Can I think about it?” she asked.
“Of course,” I replied.
“What if you come over for dinner tonight?” Waylen asked excitedly.
Thus began my son’s plan to get himself a mother, and I wasn’t even tempted to stop him.
