Chapter 11
Alpha King Julian’s Perspective
Allow me to properly introduce myself.
I am Julian Wexler—the Alpha King, the sovereign of all werewolves.
At 21 years old, my skin carries a natural tan, and my eyes are a deep, oceanic blue—eyes my mother often boasts will be impossible for my destined mate to resist.
Yes, I admit it—I’m very much a mama’s boy.
I come from a mixed heritage; my mother is white, my father Black, blending two worlds into one.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve eagerly awaited the arrival of my second chance mate, the one the Moon Goddess herself has chosen for me.
My parents, the former King and Queen, encouraged me to visit the pack of their closest allies—Alpha Dorian and Luna Camilla.
Tonight is no ordinary night. It marks a milestone: their triplets are turning eighteen and will experience their first shift into wolves.
Adding to the significance, their daughter Skyla has finally agreed to come to the palace to assist in training our female warriors.
The last time I saw Skyla, she was only sixteen. Even then, her beauty was undeniable, though she tried to keep it hidden beneath a veil of modesty.
If fate decrees that she is my mate, I would be overjoyed beyond words.
Her sister, Selene, had been much more forward with me back then, throwing herself at me without hesitation. I shut that down immediately.
I’ve never wasted time on girls like her; I’ve always reserved myself for my true mate.
Right now, I’m quietly pacing, waiting for Alpha Dorian to announce my arrival.
Inside my mind, my wolf, Rig, thrums with restless energy, chanting incessantly, “Mate, Mate, Mate… Mate is here!”
“Calm down, Rig,” I mutter under my breath. “You’re giving me a headache.”
He whines softly in response, “I want our mate.”
I sigh, telling him I want her too, but we must be patient.
Tonight, alongside the triplets, Alpha Mason’s children—his son, the future Alpha, and his daughter—will also undergo their first shift.
Tears glisten in her eyes, and without hesitation, I stride over to her, wrap my arms around her, and pull her close.
I press a deep, heartfelt kiss to her lips.
“Mate,” I whisper, and she responds with the same word, her smile brightening the room.
Skyla… she is mine.
Leaning in, I murmur softly into her ear, “I’ve finally found you. I already love you.”
With a playful wink, she replies, “I love you too, my King… and my secret crush.”
A warm surge fills my chest.
My Queen loves me back.
Behind us, Selene’s voice rises in a furious shriek, “This isn’t fair! How can that ugly bitch be your mate? I’m so much better than her. I hate her!”
But her words fall on deaf ears, drowned out by the certainty of what I now know to be true.
