The Son of Red Fang by Diana Sockriter novel Chapter 450

He lifts his head from my hand as I maneuver myself from on top to beside him. He opens his eyes, slowly looking around. While he may be lucid after several minutes of being psychotic the effects of it are still there. While I’m hoping I can avoid sedating the young man so far his body language is screaming how much he still needs it. He pushes himself up off the floor but being in the middle of my office spooks him again.

No! Get out of my head!He screams as he tries to duck into a ball.

No, Jamie. Don’t curl up son, don’t fight me.

My tone is firm but neutral as I attempt to pull him into me. He fights me briefly before giving into what I know he needs. Suddenly he is completely wrapped around me as if he forgot that he is a twentyone year old man. We are now sitting chest to chest, his legs wrapped around my waist and his arms around my chest clinging to the fabric of my shirt. I recover quickly from his unexpected response wrapping my own arms around him as he silently sobs.

Lay your head to the side Jamie. My scent will provide you a ground to where you are compared to where you’ve been.

I attempt to slowly guide his head into a better position but he fights, yelping and screaming until he shakes my hand off of him. I rub between his shoulders silently, lost in my own thoughts as to how ill prepared I was for such a unique situation. Here Cole was, believing that if he left his friend would be in greater danger than he already is yet by staying,

Jamie’s loyalty to Cole is resulting in the young man’s own torture,

I brought two different dosages of Valium. I think the lower dose would benefit him the most.

I nod as I rock him, trying again to guide his head into a better position on my shoulder.

Jamie, I’m going to give you a shot of Valium in your arm. Just stay still. She instructs him as she wipes down his arm.

I passed out after the fifth hit with that belt tearing into my back. I I don’t know how many he actually gave me.Angela pauses a moment, hearing his whispered confession.

Little pinch. She states as she gives him the shot.

He lays against me, motionless, slowly relaxing his hold on the back of my shirt.

I don’t know how long I was out but I woke up screaming. Both of my arms were dislocated because he left me hanging after I passed out. I was only awake a minute or two before I knocked out again.

His voice is steady but monotonous as he speaks, giving me the feeling that he’s gone into an emotional type of shock.
