THE SPITEFUL BRIDE: Marry To Rival's Son novel Chapter 57

Chapter 57

After breakfast, they all sat in the living room, settling into the soft cushions. The conversation between Mia and Elena gradually shifted to the wedding.

Stefan sat close was on his phone, acting like he wasn’t paying attention to the ladies. But he was, waiting to hear if they’d talk about her friend who’s in town.

“I think your mom should come in three days before the wedding,” Mia said, turning to Elena. Then turning towards Stefan too “What do you think ” Stefan shrugged, he already told her to do whatever she likes. But she still always end up asking for his permission.

‘I’ll inform her then “Elena smiled.

They went through a few more things, guests, last fittings, decorations.

Then Stefan shifted his gaze from his phone to Mian, “Later in the day we should visit my dad.”

Mia paused. “You want us to visit Jeremiah?”

He gave a short nod. “We’re married, there’s nothing he can do anymore. And it makes sense. If this is going to look real, it has to be done all the way.”

Mia slowly nodded. “And we’ll go see your dad after,” He added.

“Are you sure” she asked confused. She didn’t expect him to bring up her dad himself, she thought she’d be the one forcing that in. But the way he handled it, it surprised her.

“I don’t say what I don’t mean Mia. Never” He said matter of fact.

she nodded before asking, “By the way… where’s Mose?”

Stefan shrugged lazily, not bothering to look up. “He said he’s handling something.”

Elena paused, since yesterday he hasn’t been back. His he trying to guilt trip her? It won’t work because she doesn’t care. And besides, she didn’t tell him to stop coming. Whatever he does, is his business.

“That’s all?” Mia looked between him and Elena confused, but Elena acted like she wasn’t paying attention.

“He needs time to rest. He’s been overworking.” Stefan explained.

Before Mia could press further, Elena’s phone dinged. She gasped. “The pictures are here!”

Mia straightened. Stefan continued with what was on his phone.

Elena’s eyes were already dancing across her phone. “Oh my God, you guys. These are insane!.”

She immediately forwarded them to Mia and Stefan. “Check your phones. Now.”

Mia opened her gallery. One by one, the pictures loaded, and her heart skipped. Her and Stefan, matching perfectly in deep purple. The orange, the gold, the blue and then the black. Each picture… felt unreal.

They looked out of this world, the way one would think just by seeing this pics, that they both really loved each other.

He was touching her in every frame like she was fragile, like he adored her. He looked at her with those charming eyes of his, like he couldn’t help it.

“Wow…” Elena whispered. “You guys… you don’t even look fake.”

Mia swallowed. “I think he should have been an actor.”

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“You both know this have to be posted today right?” Elena sked, already unlocking her own phone. “People are going to lose it.”

Mia nodded. She and Stefan had already agreed to that part. It was the whole point of doing the shoot, to look convincing.

Still… seeing it happen was different. Seeing that look on Stefan was doing something in her stomach, she really wished they were real. That he’d look at her that same way without no camera.

“Give me your phone,” Elena said suddenly. Mia obeyed and handed it to her without much fuss. Elena typed quickly, then turned the screen to Mia:

“They saw hate, we saw Fate. Can’t wait to spend forever with you love

#Stemey” 1

Before Mia could say anything, it was already posted.

Then Elena turned to Stefan. “Phone. Unlock it” He looked at her but didn’t resist, just handed it over. It was already unlocked.

She picked three photos, then captioned: “Can’t wait to see you walk down the aisle my best part.” 1

Posted.

Then on her own page, she chose her favorite three and smiled to herself.

“#Stemey. Who’d ever believe Sterling and Meyer would become one? A match made in heaven. What a fairytale wedding. Every girls dream. #Godwhen #SterlingMeyer.”

She posted with a satisfying look on her face

Stefan was going through the pictures and a little smile tugged at his lips, though hidden.

In the car, Mia was leaned against the window, scrolling through her phone. Notifications were pouring in, comments, reposts and tags.

She chuckled softly, shaking her head. “The internet is buzzing.’

Stefan shot her a glance. She didn’t even notice, she was already turning the screen toward him.

“We’re trending,” she said, amused. “Everyone’s rooting for us. #Stemey is everywhere.”

He didn’t say much, just a small nod. But she noticed the corner of his mouth twitch, like he was trying not to smile. So you do like the attention, she thought, watching him for a second.

Mia turned her attention back to her phone, thinking quickly. If they were going to keep this up, they might as well take advantage of it. Then an idea hit her.

“Give me your hand.”Stefan raised a brow, skeptical.

“Why?”

“Just give me.” With a quiet sigh, he extended his hand toward her, palm up.

She took it, a little slower than she meant to, and laced their fingers together. Her chest fluttered for no reason, or maybe for reasons she didn’t want to admit.

His hand was warm, solid, and familiar in a way that irritated her. Don’t be stupid, don’t get carried away, focus. She thought, scolding herself.

She lifted their hands and took the picture. Her thumb hovered over the caption field before typing:

“About to meet both fathers. Nothing can separate us now #Stemey #MatchMade”
