THE SPITEFUL BRIDE: Marry To Rival's Son novel Chapter 80

Chapter 80

Finally, Stefan tilted his head slightly, his lips quirking up into a casual, almost bored smirk.

“That was just one of the little gifts I got for my wife,” he said, as though they were discussing a handbag or a dinner reservation. “She deserves more.”

Chaos erupted everywhere.

Reporters lost their minds. Guests gasped. Even the caterers paused mid-load. Whispers exploded like wildfire. Samuel’s act was forgotten and everyone was talking about Stefan’s love for his wife.

“She got a P]?”

“A whole private jet? That’s like… billions.”

“Is he serious right now?”

“That’s Stefan Sterling for you.”

“This is the definition of a power couple ”

And then someone dropped the bomb.

“We heard it’s the just released model…. the Falcon IX Phoenix. The one that’s currently the most expensive in the world.”

Everywhere dropped dead silence. Even the wind had the decency to still.

Mia was frozen. Her brain couldn’t keep up. The Falcon IX Phoenix? That was in the news last month…. custom interiors, glass roofing, limited production, price tag that could feed a country.

She turned to Stefan again, almost afraid to blink. Stefan didn’t have that type of money, not with their ongoing plans. Their newly signed investments, that has nearly run the both of them dry.

But, he didn’t even flinch.

“Like I said,” he spoke, calmly and clearly, looking directly into the cameras. “My wife deserves more. A new start deserves something new.”

Boom. Everywhere exploded. The Internet was on fire. The headlines changed immediately, this was worth more than any drama they’ve ever witnessed.

Elena’s jaw practically hit the ground. She gawked at Stefan then turned to Mia, blinking fast.

“Oh my God,” she whispered under her breath, her grin forming slowly. “He actually did it. This man just casually dropped billions like pocket change.”

Mose, standing by the car, didn’t even look shocked. Just amused.

Samuel and Jeremiah, on the other hand, looked like someone had just stabbed their egos in broad daylight. Samuel’s face was stony, his fingers clenching slightly. No matter what he does, Stefan was always one step ahead. 1

He turned his gave to Stefan who was looking at him with a mocking smile. Then it hit him. This was all Stefan’s plan. He had purposely told the press to come ask those questions. So, he alone would have the last laugh.

Jeremiah was muttering something under his breath, his expression sour. Stefan was supposed to have nothing, how did he get that amount of money to acquire a private jet. Did he make the wrong decision in not choosing him as his heir?

locked on Stefan.

“Say something,” Elena hissed, nudging her.

Mia blinked again, dazed. “L…”

She finally turned to Stefan, her voice a little breathy. “You really bought a jet? For me…..?”

Stefan leaned down, his lips brushing her ear, low enough only she could hear.

“I’d buy you the sky if it meant I get to watch you blush like this.” Mia’s face turned red instantly. This man, would never change. Still teasing her in this situation.

He took her hand gently and led her away, leaving behind a whirlwind of stunned whispers and flashing cameras. “What about the party?” Elena asked beside them in confusion.

They were supposed to have an after-party. Elena and Mose had planned it, they’d secured the rooftop venue. Just a simple celebration with friends.

“She needs rest,” he’d said calmly, his hand still resting on Mia’s lower back as he continued guiding her away. We’ll move the party. Another day.”

Mia blinked in surprise. “But we planned…..”

“You’ve done enough today,” Stefan said, turning to her fully. “You stood on heels for hours, took thousands of pictures, got kissed by ten different relatives, survived Samuel’s surprise proposal… and you haven’t even had a full meal.”

He wasn’t wrong.

((

Her shoulders slumped slightly, but not out of disappointment…… more like realization. She was tired. Bone-deep tired. And as her eyes met Stefan’s, she knew he wasn’t canceling the party to be controlling. He was doing it for her. She just hadn’t realized how badly she needed someone to do that for her.

Elena had tried to protest. “But we set up candles and live jazz….”

“We’ll set it up again,” Stefan replied without even looking her way.

Everyone understood it was final. When Stefan made a decision, it wasn’t up for debate.

Elena and Mia hugged for a long time, with Elena whispering to her “Make sure you enjoy your honeymoon” Mia couldn’t help the blush that curled up her face as she breaks the hug.

Stefan helped her into the car, gently pulling her scarf up so it covered her shoulders better. She hadn’t even

noticed the chill in the air. But he had.

“Take care of them” he said to Mose shifting his gaze between Elena and Sienna. Mose nodded in understanding.

Sienna and Elena stood waving at them in tears as they drove off. Mose couldn’t help but roll his eyes. Woman and their dramatic nature, he thought.

Inside the car, everywhere was filled with silence.

The city lights rushed by outside the window, but Mia leaned into the soft leather seat, stealing glances at the man beside her. His eyes were fixed on the road ahead……. even though he wasn’t driving. Calm. Composed. Like he hadn’t just stunned the entire nation with a wedding, a PJ, and the emotional maturity of a man most could only dream of marrying.
