Elizabeth thought it over for a bit.

Tiffany wasn’t wrong. After that brutal fight, dealing with a fresh batch of scared captives meant someone had to handle things immediately, or things would spiral out of control.
Melton had to keep the others in line. He couldn’t spare any extra hands.
“Fine. You can stay.” Elizabeth nodded.
Under the anxious, jittery gazes of Isaac, Milo, and the others, they watched as the she–devil and her overseer dragged a table and two lounge chairs out onto the only road leading to the farm before the sky had even fully darkened.
There was even a pot of water on the table, plus some snack–like pastries.
The two of them just stretched out in the chairs, completely chill, chatting now and then, even letting out the occasional little yawn.
They didn’t look like they were on high alert on a tense night at all. It was more like they we enjoying a calm evening at some vacation resort.
Seeing that, Isaac and the others couldn’t help but get the chills.
Milo swallowed hard and nudged Isaac nervously. “Isaac, doesn’t this look… familiar?”
Isaac went pale and nodded quickly. “Yeah! Way too familiar! Back then, we… we walked right into this same trap!”
A shiver ran up his spine, making his hair stand on end.
So, some clueless fools were about to get themselves killed tonight, too?
And judging from how Elizabeth had set everything up, she’d been waiting for this moment on purpose!
The instant that clicked, their fear twisted into a strange mix of excitement and anticipation.
When they were the ones getting smashed, it felt like the world was ending.
But seeing someone else about to go through the same or worse, that urge to watch the spectacle began creeping back.
“I wonder which unlucky bastard it is this time…” someone muttered, a hint of gloating in his voice.

Around Elizabeth and Tiffany, little lamps formed a circle, casting a soft yellow glow. In the surrounding darkness, it stood out, eerie and noticeable.
Scarface led his men forward, using the shadows of abandoned piles of garbage to sneak closer to the farm.
From a distance, he spotted the patch of light and the two blurry figures sitting there.
“Huh, they even have lights? They must have a death wish.” Scarface sneered, signaling his men to fan out and surround the area, ready to strike in one sweep.
He could already imagine all those stellar coins rolling in.
Just as he was about to give the go–ahead, his henchman, Baldy, whispered, “Boss, something is off! Look, aren’t those brats from the Black Rats?”
Scarface squinted and followed Baldy’s gaze.
Sure enough, deeper in the farm, he saw several figures peeking out of the shadows, and Isa and Milo were easy to recognize.
Almost at the same time, Isaac and the others noticed movement outside and stared tensely in that direction.
“Black Rats?” Scarface frowned. “What the hell are they doing here? Don’t tell me that woman is
with Blackrat now?”
The idea suddenly made a lot more sense.
Bigfoot, another henchman, muttered, “No wonder she was so cocky riding that hoverbike alone. Looks like she’s got Blackrat backing her. That bastard sure moves fast!”
Baldy’s voice went serious. “If that’s true, we’ve got a problem.”
Not that they were scared of those punks.
If it really came to a fight, Scarface’s gang could wipe them out easily.
But if a gang war erupted, casualties would be inevitable.
And if they took that woman hostage, things could get even worse.
Baldy rolled his eyes and suggested, “Boss, why not just deal with Blackrat directly? Tell him to hand her over. That coward would fold the second he saw us. No way he’d fight us over a

Scarface stayed quiet, weighing the options.

A straight–up attack was risky. Negotiation might save blood, but the prize was right in front of me. He didn’t want to share the gains with Blackrat.
As Scarface’s gang hesitated in the shadows, Elizabeth, sprawled across the lounge chair, was growing impatient.
She yawned, rubbed her eyes, and muttered to Tiffany in a puzzled tone, “What’s happening? Are those people turtles? Why aren’t they coming in yet? I’m getting sleepy just sitting here.”
Tiffany stayed on high alert the whole time, scanning the area, then glancing at the restless. Isaac and the others inside the farm. Quietly, she said, “They probably spotted Isaac and Milo.”
The moment Elizabeth heard that, she shot upright from the lounge chair. Her sharp eyes locked onto Isaac’s group nearby. She snapped, clearly annoyed. “What the heck are you guys sneaking around for over there?”
Isaac, Milo, and the rest had just finished cleaning up their assigned area. Feeling pretty proud of themselves, they had come over to report their work, hoping for some praise or even a reward while catching the show.
Instead, they just irritated her.
At Elizabeth’s icy tone, all of them were startled. Instantly, they knew they might have messed everything up.
