Mandy scoffed at Elizabeth’s warning, her face twisting with pure rage.

“You’ll be the one regretting this! Touch my husband and my son, and I’ll make sure you disappear from the Kingdom for good!”
She kept ranting, her voice getting shriller with every word. Mick finally managed to stand, but he looked like he might throw up any second.
With a cold nod from Mick, the two cops stomped over. They didn’t bother hiding their disdain as they “invited” Elizabeth and the others to the station.
But before anyone could drag them away, a pair of sharply dressed middle–aged folks stepped into the
basement.
The woman spotted Elizabeth right away and broke into a delighted smile. “Ms. Schofield? It really is you!” She looked confident and professional, and the man beside her was just as refined.
Mandy’s face froze. She recognized them instantly.
The woman was Dr. Cheryllina Greene, director at Central Hospital, and her husband was none other than the associate dean at Royal Hospital.
Mandy rushed to slap on her best smile, ready to cozy up to them.
But Cheryllina didn’t spare her a glance. She made a beeline for Elizabeth. “Ms. Schofield, I’m obsessed with your potatoes! Ever since I tried them, I can’t stand anything from other farms.”
Cheryllina spun to her husband, her eyes bright. “Emeriton, you’ve been dying to meet the genius behind those potatoes. This is her.”
Emeriton gave Elizabeth a warm, respectful handshake. Ms. Schofield, it’s an honor.”
They chatted for a moment, and only then did the Greenes notice the cops and the scowling Mick and Mandy.
Cheryllina’s brow furrowed. “Ms. Schofield, what’s going on here?”
Elizabeth explained everything–Terence’s dirty trick with the ball, the insults, Mick and Mandy’s threats, and the obvious bias from the police.
Cheryllina’s face went stone cold.
She faced the officers, her voice sharp and icy. “Officers, you’re really just taking one side before hearing the facts? That’s not how you’re supposed to do your jobs. I know Ms. Schofield’s character–she’d never hit someone without cause. I expect you to handle this fairly, or I’ll call Chief Rigby myself.”
Emeriton nodded, his tone level but clear. “I trust the police to be fair. I’m sure you won’t let an innocent person take the fall.”
The two cops looked like they were about to melt. The Hugheses had serious connections. Crossing them would be a nightmare.
Mandy tried to jump in. “Dr. Greene, Dr. Greene, you can’t really know someone’s heart. Look at my son and my husband. They’re hurt. She did this. You can’t let her trick you—”

Chapter 144 Wrong Choice.
She didn’t even finish before someone else showed up.

An older lady carrying shopping bags hustled over, her eyes wide when she saw Elizabeth surrounded by cops. “Oh my goodness, Tycoon Boss, what’s happening Why are these officers bothering you?”
She was another one of Elizabeth’s loyal customers.
Elizabeth recounted the whole story again, her voice perfectly calm.
The old lady’s face turned bright red with anger. “Are you kidding me? Tycoon Boss is one of the kindest people I know! Do you have any idea how many people line up for her potatoes and sweet potatoes? Five thousand stellar coins couldn’t buy more than two pounds of her sweet potatoes! Those spoiled brats started the fight and now you want to blame her? Listen here, my son’s a partner at Summit Law. If you mess with Tycoon Boss, I’ll have him represent her and sue your whole department till you’re forced to apologize in public!*
The words “partner at Summit Law” made the cops‘ knees nearly buckle.
Now they had a doctor, a hospital director, and a lawyer’s mom standing up for Elizabeth. This was getting out of hand.
Before they could even try to calm the furious lady, an older man with a booming voice marched right in, his back ramrod straight. “Tycoon Boss, what happened here? Who’s causing you trouble?”
Anyone could tell from the nickname–he was a longtime customer too.
He had a young officer beside him, his uniform crisp and his rank showing colonel.
