However, an older, cautious shareholder frowned, his brow furrowing as he raised an objection. “I get that everyone’s thirsty for profit. But have you all forgotten that the Hewitts‘ nominal young madam, Elizabeth, is still living on Planet A001? If we just scrap that recycling station, we’re essentially cutting off one of the planet’s most vital lifelines to the outside world. On the Hewitts‘ side… could that create unnecessary misunderstandings?”
The moment the Hewitts were mentioned, the atmosphere in the meeting room froze for a beat.
But the hard–liners pushing for the shutdown quickly fired back.
“The Hewitts?” the middle–aged shareholder from before let out a mocking laugh. “Haven’t you heard? That Ms. Schofield means absolutely nothing to the Hewitt family. It was just a marriage forced by genetic matching; they probably wish she didn’t exist at all. If we pull the plug on the recycling station and leave her to fend for herself on Planet A001, that might actually be exactly what some people want. They might even thank us for getting rid of that ‘problem.”
“Exactly,” another man jumped in at once, his tone carrying the smug certainty of someone who thought he understood the upper–class dirt. “Starnet was full of it before. The Schofields tried to use this marriage to latch onto the Hewitts and got slapped in the face for it. Everyone here heard about that, right? If the Hewitts really cared about this daughter–in–law, how could they possibly let her stay on that godforsaken Garbage Planet? They would’ve dragged her back to Centria Planet long ago to live in luxury.”
That line of reasoning was like a bucket of cold water dumped over the few people who had still been hesitant, people who had thought they might use the recycling station to score some favor with the Hewitts.
Yeah. If the Hewitts really cared about Elizabeth, they would never have stayed this indifferent.
Capital had a sharp nose. From the Hewitts‘ cold attitude, they read one clear signal: abandonment
The balance of the meeting shifted fast.
The older shareholder parted his lips as if to say something, but in the end, he said nothing
He had to admit his colleagues‘ guess fit the logic better, and fit everything they knew about how top–tier aristocratic families usually operated.
Seeing that no one else objected, the group’s president finally made the call. “Then it’s settled. Resolution approved. The A001 recycling station will be shut down.
However,” he paused, then added, “before the formal closure/ follow procedure and notify the relev people on the planet, Especially… Ms. Schofield. Consider it us doing the decent thing so this doesn too ugly. It leaves some room for everyone.”
The decision carried all the cold calculation of capital, plus a thin layer of fake courtesy.

They thought they had figured out the Hewitts‘ intentions. They thought they were only cutting off an unimportant, money–losing route. They had no idea that this choice, which looked perfectly sound from a business standpoint, would one day stir up consequences in a direction none of them could have imagined.
And at that very moment, far away on the farm on Planet A001, Elizabeth was still busy planning how to use the next “free ride” to ship out more produce. She knew nothing about the change that was coming.

The farm on Planet A001 was bursting with life.
After potatoes, sweet potatoes, and strawberries, the next crop–long beans–had also come in.
Slender green pods hung thick across the trellises like a curtain of green waterfalls, growing so well it was a joy to look at.
What Elizabeth had planted was a long–bean variety.
Every pod was more than a foot long, plump and even, the kind of sight that made people happy just looking at it.
After a careful count, aside from the portion she kept for seed, this harvest came to well over a hundred kilograms of fresh long beans.
Faced with such an impressive yield, Elizabeth’s first thought was naturally how to sell it.
She logged onto Starnet and checked the market price for long beans.
But the search results left her stunned.
There wasn’t even any retail listing for fresh long beans on Starnet!
The only things she could find were finished long–bean dishes sold on restaurant menus.
One tiny plate of pale, lifeless–looking stir–fried long beans, barely tossed in a pan, was priced at a shocking 1,500 stellar coins.
That price… was completely insane.
Looking at the dull–colored plate of beans on the holographic screen, Elizabeth couldn’t help frowning
In the food map in her memory, there were so many ways to cook long beans!
Dry–fried long beans, blistered in hot oil and peppercorns until they turned fragrant and slightly charred, spicy and addictive.
Long beans stewed with potatoes, soft and full of flavor, are perfect with rice.
There were also braised noodle dishes with long beans, stir–fried long beans with minced meat…
And if they were pickled into sour long beans, that opened up even more amazing dishes and pairings: sour long beans with minced meat, sour long bean noodles, sandwich and ravioli stuffed with sour long beans…
Just thinking about it made Elizabeth almost drool.
