Chapter 198 There’s No Mistake
P:
“Tycoon Boss isn’t joking around! Those prices were set a long time ago!”
“Yeah! All of us can prove it!”
“Not long ago, several people bought 1,000 sets each of potatoes, sweet potatoes, and strawberries! The total was over 180 million stellar coins! We all saw it happen!”
“Tsk, I thought he had money. Turns out he was just talking big to save face.”
“If you don’t have the money, then don’t brag. What, trying to run now?”
The crowd’s mocking words hit Zachary nonstop, like ice pellets pounding down. His face shifted from white to red, to nearly black, looking terrible.
He felt like a joke, as if he’d been stripped bare and shoved into the spotlight.

Noticing things going badly, Hannah quickly changed her approach and targeted Elizabeth again. Tears filled her eyes, making her look pitiful. “Eliza! I know you’ve always hated me for being with Zach! But feelings can’t be forced! No matter how angry you are, you can’t take revenge like this! Back then, when you drugged Zach and it caused that big mess, and you wer taken to military court, that wasn’t our doing either! The military wanted to punish you for harming an active–duty soldier! Are you trying the same trick again to frame Zach? Stop now! If you get dragged back to military court, no one will be able to help you!”
Her words were vicious. She twisted facts and pinned huge accusations on Elizabeth, like “planned revenge” and “framing a soldier.”
But the current Elizabeth wasn’t the same person as before. That fake crying act didn’t shake her at all. Instead, it made the waiting crowd even angrier.
“Bullshit! Why would Tycoon Boss be jealous of you?”
“What a shameless liar! You’re the one who can’t pay and wants to dodge the bill, and now you’re flipping the story!”
“So what if it involves the military? Does that mean they don’t have to make sense?”
“Tycoon Boss, don’t worry! We’ll stand up for you! He was the one who bragged he’d buy everything!”
“That’s right! Every one of us will testify! Even if this reaches Her Majesty, we’re not scared!”
The crowd got louder and louder, wave after wave of voices rising in support of Elizabeth.

Chapter 198 There’s No Mistake
They didn’t care about her past, her identity, or her status.
They only cared about one thing. If Elizabeth got dragged into court because of those two people, then how would they buy those amazing potatoes and sweet potatoes in the future?
Right in the middle of the noise, a slightly nervous yet respectful voice called out, “Ms. Schofield!”
Everyone turned and saw the older man in the black suit from earlier walking back, followed two bodyguards and several servants dressed the same.
It was Oliver’s butler, Vaughn.
He walked quickly to the stall and gave Elizabeth a polite bow. “Ms. Schofield, sorry to interrupt. After Mrs. Tapia and the others tasted the produce we bought earlier, they were extremely impressed. They kept praising it. Mrs. Tapia specifically asked me to return and purchase another 3,000 potatoes, 3,000 sweet potatoes, and 3,000 strawberries. May I ask if you still have enough stock?”
His expression was a mix of urgency and expectation.
Zachary had once visited Oliver’s residence with his father, so he recognized Vaughn right away. He knew Vaughn was Melinda’s trusted aide and held an important position.
He quickly pulled himself together and greeted him respectfully. “Hello, Vaughn.”
Only then did Vaughn notice Zachary and Hannah nearby. He nodded politely. “Greetings, Mr. Zachary, Ms. Hannah.”
But it was clear his main focus was still the purchase.
Seeing that, Elizabeth showed just enough trouble on her face.
She turned to Vaughn and said, “I’m sorry, Vaughn! It’s not that I don’t want to sell to you. It’s just that Mr. Zachary claimed he would buy all my stock. After I told him the total, he accused me of making up prices and scamming him. At this rate, doing business is getting tougher for me.”
With only a few simple sentences, she shifted the blame right back onto Zachary while stepping on him at the same time.
Vaughn frowned slightly and looked at Zachary. His voice stayed polite, though confusion showed through. “Mr. Zachary, what exactly happened? We just purchased goods from Ms. Schofield earlier. The prices were clear and fair, and the quality speaks for itself. Where is the supposed scam?”
Zachary’s face burned hot.

In front of Vaughn, he didn’t dare act as rudely as he had with the crowd. He forced himself to stay calm, sighed, and said helplessly, “Vaughn, you might not know. Maybe Elizabeth still holds a grudge against my girlfriend and me, so she purposely gave me an outrageous price to trouble me. She claimed these potatoes, sweet potatoes, and strawberries would cost over 50 million stellar coins.”
He stressed the words “outrageous” and “trouble me.”
But the reaction he expected–Vaughn would also find it absurd–never happened.
After listening, Vaughn nodded seriously and explained, “Mr. Zachary, based on Ms. Schofield’s tiered pricing system, the total does come out to about that amount after doing the calculations. There’s no mistake.”
“What?!” Hannah couldn’t stop herself from shouting. “Vaughn! Those are just regular potatoes and sweet potatoes! How could they ever cost that much?!”
Vaughn gave her a calm look. His tone stayed steady but firm. “Whether something deserves that price isn’t decided by us. Its quality and demand decide that. Ms. Schofield posted her prices clearly from the beginning, and the rules were very clear. Our household recently purchased 1,000 potatoes, sweet potatoes, and strawberries for 180,048,000 stellar coins. If you doubt it, I can show you the payment record.”
