Cristian’s legendary service record set him apart, but what truly made him infamous was that overwhelming mental power–across the Kingdom, they called him the Demon Blade or the Grim Sentinel.
His arranged marriage was the main topic among the military elite and the most influential families.
Each year, the gene matching center selected the top candidates and sent them to the Hewitt estate for evaluation.
No one thought the final choice would be a woman who’d once been exiled.
Plenty of people had waited for the Hewitts to become a laughingstock.
Now, it was clear that the spectacle would never happen.
Once this news came out, all those smug faces would have to eat their words.
“That’s right! It’s her!” Andrew’s voice shook with awe. “Word is, after Ms. Schofield became Mrs. Hewitt, she never moved into their house. She stayed out on the wasteland and built the first billionaire farm in the Kingdom. Those strawberries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes came straight from her land. People used to laugh at her, but now? She’s the real thing. Her crops probably work better than any high–end restorative.”
Gabriel’s mind spun.
The Hewitts. Cristian. Elizabeth. The waste–planet farm. Crops that could slow or even reverse mental power collapse.
If the root of it all really was the Hewitts, nothing could be taken lightly.
“Andrew,” Gabriel’s tone turned sharp, “don’t say a word about Ms. Schofield or her crops. Especially not about their effects. I owe you for helping Denisse.”
“We’re family, Gabriel!” Andrew waved him off, but his face turned serious. “Don’t worry, I know how important this is. I’ve already warned Lilith. But Gabriel, if it works for Denisse, you’d better act fast. Those crops are scarce on the Free Market. People are scrambling to get them. Next time she restocks, I’ll let you know.”
“I understand,” Gabriel said, his eyes fixed on Denisse’s pale face, every line hard with determination. “Thank you.”
He ended the call and walked back into the bedroom.

Winona’s tear–streaked face lifted in desperation. “What did Andrew say? Where did these come from? Can we get more?”
Gabriel squeezed her hand and explained everything Andrew had told him.
“The Hewitts‘ new wife? Elizabeth?” Winona’s shock was plain, hope and fear tangled together. “Can we reach her? Or maybe go through the Hewitts? I’d pay anything if it would help Denisse.”
“The Hewitts…” Gabriel thought it over.
Trevor had a reputation for being generous and respected by the entire military.
His wife, Zaylee, was known for her warmth and grace, and neither of them had ever acted superior to anyone.
Still, this was delicate. They couldn’t afford to be reckless.
The Kingdom’s five military divisions kept each other in check on the surface, but under the table, alliances and rivalries ran deep.
The royal family’s greatest fear was the military divisions uniting.
Gabriel and Trevor belonged to different camps.
They both lived on Centria Planet but only met at top military meetings or major ceremonies. They might nod or talk business, but they had no private relationship.
Their families almost never crossed paths.
With something this big, that delicate balance had to be maintained.
Elizabeth had chosen to keep a low profile, selling through the Free Market under the name Interstellar Tycoon. She must have her reasons.
“Let’s not rush,” Gabriel said, thinking it through. “Denisse is just starting to improve. We need to keep watching. We’ll give her the strawberries, potatoes, and sweet potatoes in the safest way possible and see what happens next. I’ll quietly try to buy more from the Free Market account. As for reaching out to the Hewitts or Elizabeth herself… We’ll wait for the right time and the right approach.”
He couldn’t risk Denisse’s only hope, and he wouldn’t drag the mysterious Mrs. Hewitt into the
open too soon.
Winona’s anxiety was obvious, but she trusted Gabriel’s judgment.
She looked at Denisse, whose sleeping features seemed just a bit more relaxed, and nodded
