At the center of it all was Elizabeth. She stayed calm and confident as she welcomed each guest and led them toward the farm she was so proud of.
Elizabeth led everyone forward, passing through an arch made by twisting vines, stepping into the farm.
What they saw made everyone who had never been here before fall silent. Even Zaylee, who had seen so much in her life, Andrew, who had traveled everywhere, and even the trained guards behind them who always stayed alert, were all struck speechless. Their faces showed pure shock and disbelief.
There were no cold metal hydroponic tanks, no pipes full of artificial nutrient liquids, and no weak artificial lights under shields.
As far as the eye could see, there was real soil–soft and dark brown!
Row after row, line after line, all neat and orderly. Plants of all heights and shapes grew straight from the ground. They spread their wide or tender leaves, shining under the slightly pale but now very bright sunlight of the Garbage Planet, showing a rich and almost luxurious green.
Tomatoes hung like lanterns, cucumber vines curled in fresh green lines, corn stalks stood tall like guards. and pumpkin leaves spread out like small umbrellas.
In the distance, rows of fruit trees stood tall. You could see bright red apples, bunches of grapes, and the most tempting part of all–a field of strawberries, covered with countless bright red berries like little gems.
The air was filled with a rich and complex natural smell.
There was the faint earthy smell of soil, the fresh scent of grass, the sweetness of flowers, and the mouthwatering aroma of ripe fruit.
Everything here was completely different from the highly controlled, often sterile growing environments people were used to in the interstellar era. This place was full of raw, strong, and even a little “wild” life.
“Soil…soil farming? You really grow things straight in the ground?” Melinda asked. She lifted a hand as if to fix glasses that weren’t even there, her eyes wide open.
Behind her, one of the guards instinctively placed a hand on the handle of his weapon, his sharp gaze sweeping over the plants gently swaying in the breeze.
In their understanding and training, plants that could grow this well in natural soil outdoors were usually linked to danger–mutation, aggression, and high radiation.
Chrisona was also surprised, but she stayed calmer
She carefully studied the plants and the surroundings, thinking deeply. “I don’t sense any strange energy. and the plants look very stable This is really unbelievable”
Lalith didn’t think that much
Her full attention was already caught by a few apple trees nearby, heavy with bright red frum
“Apples! Real apple trees!” she cheered like a happy httle deer, she ran over without any tear

She stood on her tiptoes, leaned close to a big red apple, and took a deep breath, her face full of joy. “It smells so good! Ms. Schofield, can we eat this? Can I pick one and try it now?”
Seeing Lilith’s shining eyes, Elizabeth couldn’t help but smile. She nodded. “Of course you can. They’re all naturally ripe, and no chemicals were used. And on the farm, you can pick and eat as much as you want- it’s free.”
“Wow! Ms. Schofield, you’re the best!” Lilith cheered. She quickly picked several of the biggest, reddest apples and held them in her arms.
Then she happily ran back and gave one to every lady there, her parents, and even the guards who were watching her. With a bright smile, she said, “A little gift for everyone–try them! Apples grown by Ms. Schofield must be super tasty!”
Everyone looked at the apple in their hands. It still carried the fresh scent of leaves, its skin smooth and its color bright and tempting. Even those who weren’t usually interested in apples now felt their appetite grow because of the pure, sweet smell.
Fiona and the other quickly brought clean water to rinse the apples.
Christina took a small, elegant bite. After a crisp “crunch,” sweet juice with a slight tang filled her mouth. The texture was firm but smooth, far richer and more natural than any apple she had ever tasted, even those grown with the best hydroponic methods.
A look of surprise flashed in her eyes as she praised sincerely, “Elizabeth, your growing skills are truly amazing. Even apples can taste like this. It’s impressive.”
Winona carefully fed Denisse a small piece.
Denisse chewed slowly. A faint blush appeared on her pale face, and she nodded slightly. “Sweet. Tasty.”
The others also started to taste the apples, and soon they couldn’t stop praising them.
