The Starfield Farming Sovereign (Elizabeth Schofield) novel Chapter 323

Chapter 323 Commanders’ Meeting

Finished:

Even though Bruno tried hard to explain the situation fairly-pointing out that the farm rules were clearly posted, that the other side’s guards were strict, and even bringing up that strange blacklist-the leaders of the Fifth Military had already let anger and doubt take control of their thinking.

“A few rumors on Starnet, and suddenly our Fifth Military families are blacklisted? What nonsense!” one general with shining badges sneered. “She’s just a small-time farm owner. Even if she has some support behind her, how did she get the guts to do something this big? Looks to me like someone is backing her and using her to target the Fifth Military on purpose!”

“That’s right! It has to be the First Military! That old man Trevor always throws his rank around because of his past achievements, constantly pushing us down. Now this strange farm shows up, keeping all the good stuff hidden, while he lets his daughter-in-law act arrogant and shame us? No way we’re accepting that!”

“Food that can heal mental power damage… If that’s really true, then its value is massive. Is the First Military trying to keep it all to themselves? That’s greedy beyond belief! We’re all soldiers who shed blood for the kingdom. Why should they get special treatment?”

Anger and resentment quickly spread through the Fifth Military. In the end, everything was brought straight to Roman.

As the Fifth Military’s commander, Roman was famous for being strict and ambitious. He had never been on good terms with Trevor from the First Military.

After listening to his officers-especially the parts about “intentional targeting” and “hoarding resources”- his already cold face turned darker, like thunderclouds about to break.

A few days later, during a regular high-level military meeting where several commands gathered to discuss resource planning.

The meeting was already halfway done when Roman suddenly dropped his electronic folder onto the table with a solid thud. The sharp metallic sound cut off the officer who had been speaking about supplies.

Everyone in the room turned to look at him.

Roman gave a cold smile, his sharp eyes locking onto Trevor across the table. Trevor sat calmly, steady as ever. Then Roman spoke, “Commander Hewitt, I heard your First Military has been working on something pretty huge lately.”

Trevor raised his gaze, his expression still calm. “What exactly are you talking about?”

“Heh.” Roman let out a cold laugh, not hiding the mockery in his voice. “Of course I’m talking about those natural farm products your First Military quietly developed-the ones that can fix mental power damage! That’s the kind of miracle that belongs in the kingdom’s medical records. Commander Hewitt, your secrecy is impressive. Even fellow officers like us never heard a single word.”

The moment he finished speaking, the entire room fell silent.

Other than Gabriel from the Fourth Military, the commanders of the Second and Third Militaries Oswald Salazar and Edgar Spencer-looked completely shocked, disbelief clear on their faces.

“Food that heals mental power damage?” Oswald frowned deeply as he looked at Roman. “That’s a serious claim, Commander Lynch. Is that really true? How could something like that even work?”

Edgar also spoke deeply, “Natural food can soothe mental power, but ‘heal’? Commander Lynch, those aren’t words you can throw around lightly. If that’s true, that means…

“I’m throwing words around?” Roman raised his voice and pointed straight at Trevor. “Whether I’m lying or not, Commander Hewitt knows the truth! Otherwise, why is his daughter-in-law hiding on Garbage Planet A001 and refusing to come out? Why did she reject people from our Fifth Military and even put us on some so-called ‘blacklist’?!”

He suddenly stood up, pressing both hands on the table as he leaned forward. His eyes burned with anger and blame. “Trevor! We’re all soldiers who bleed for the kingdom! Who on the front lines doesn’t face the danger of mental power damage?! With something this valuable, it should be shared, and the soldiers who need it most should get it first! But what did you do? Because of some rumors and certain people’s personal feelings, you let your family play favorites and target others! Do you even understand responsibility as a commander? Where did you put the shared interests of the kingdom’s soldiers?!”

Those accusations landed like heavy blows. What he was suggesting was huge, turning a personal conflict into a major clash between militaries and accusing Trevor of harming the shared interests of all soldiers.

Oswald and Edgar both grew serious.
