Chapter 370 A Price on His Life
“I heard he used to be a killing machine out on the frontier. And now? Even a stray dog could take a bite out of him.”
“Serves him right for acting all high and mighty. Didn’t he come here to sell his life for money just like everyone else?”

The man seemed not to hear the latter half. He simply repeated, stubbornly, his voice weak and broken. but unmistakably clear, “We agreed on two million.”
Angelo’s patience snapped. He crushed his cigarette into the ashtray, and his expression darkened. “I said five hundred thousand! Take it and get out. Go patch yourself up, you’ve got another tough match in three days. Or…” He raised his voice sharply.
“Guards!”
Two burly security guards immediately stepped in from outside, their expressions hostile.
“Escort this ungrateful bastard out. Let him cool his head,” Angelo waved dismissively, lighting another cigarette without sparing the man another glance.
The guards moved forward to grab the man by both arms and then dragged him toward the door.
Already weak, he had no strength to resist.
He was hauled away like a dead dog.
And then…
Bang!
The office door was kicked open from the outside, the heavy alloy panel slamming into the wall with a thunderous crash.
Three men in sharp silver-gray uniforms of the First Military strode in like drawn blades.
The one in front bore the insignia of a captain. His face was firm, and his gaze was sharp as a hawk.
At a glance, they spotted the man-bloodied, barely conscious, being roughly dragged by the guards.
“Let him go!” the captain, Elio Nelson, barked, his pupils tightening.
The two soldiers behind him stepped forward instantly. Their movements were clean and precise, and in the blink of an eye, the two burly guards had their arms twisted behind their backs and were slammed to the ground, gritting their teeth in pain.
Angelo was so startled he jumped out of his chair, his cigarette falling to the floor.
Shock flashed across his face, and then fury. “Who the hell are you? How dare you cause trouble here? Do you even know whose territory this is? Just you wait, tonight, I’ll…”
His threat cut off abruptly.
Because Elio had already stepped in front of him. At some point, a compact, dark-blue energy pistol had appeared in his hand, and right now, its cold barrel was pressed firmly against Angelo’s greasy forehead.
On the weapon, the star-shield and sword emblem of the First Military gleamed faintly under the dim. light.

Elio’s face was expressionless. His voice was colder than ice as he said, “Go ahead. Try it. Let’s see your men are faster or my gun is. Let’s see whether your ‘boss’ is tougher than the bullets of the Fi Military.”
The color drained instantly from Angelo’s face, and cold sweat poured down in an instant.
