Chapter 380 The New Path
“Daddy, does your face… hurt?” Sophia asked in a trembling voice.
“It doesn’t hurt. Don’t be scared, Sophia. I’m okay… Norman said softly.
A little while later, the door finally opened from the inside.
Megan’s eyes were red and swollen, but she had calmed down quite a bit. Looking slightly embarrassed she gave Dominic and Emmett a faint smile and stepped aside to let them in.
Norman sat on the edge of the bed, with Sophia pressed tightly against him. Tear tracks still streaked her little face, but she had already worked up the courage to sneak curious glances at Emmett, the unfamiliar
stranger.
“Captain Walton, Emmett, please, come in and have a seat,” Megan said as she brought over the only two small stools in the room.
Dominic and Emmett thanked her and walked inside.
The atmosphere in the room was still heavy, but beneath the sorrow, there was already a trace of warmth from being reunited.
Norman looked at Megan, then at Sophia. He took a deep breath, eager to share the good news with them. He tightened his grip on Megan’s hand. Though his voice was still weak, it carried a firmness he had not felt in a long time, along with a faint glimmer of hope.
“Megan, Sophia, there’s something… I need to talk to you about.” He paused and glanced at Dominic. “Captain Walton and the others didn’t just come here to see me. They also brought news… news that might change our family’s future.”
Megan’s heart tightened, and she looked at Norman nervously.
As clearly and slowly as he could, Norman told Megan about Planet A001, Tycoon Farm, and the natural food produced there that was said to help heal mental power damage.
He told her what Dominic had said about former comrades who had been badly injured and had improved there. He told her this was an order personally approved by Trevor. He told her the farm was willing to take in their whole family, giving them a place to live and work.
“Captain Walton said the food there could really help someone with mental power damage like mine Norman kept his eyes fixed on Megan, not missing even the slightest change in her expression, And.. even though there’s no guarantee, maybe… just maybe… it could help Sophia too. Even if it doesnt the environment there is good. I can get myself back on my feet, and I can work and carn money. It has to be better than… better than me staying in that mine…
He trailed off, but Megan already understood everything.
She had never been to the mine, but from the way Norman’s remittances had grown smaller and smaller. from how strained his voice had sounded during their calls, and from how gaunt and exhausted he looked now, she could already imagine what kind of hellish place it had been.

Chapter 380 The New Path
Norman had pushed himself into that living nightmare for their family.
Now, a new path lay before them. It was a path that might help heal Norman, maybe even offer a sliver of hope for Sophia. It was a path that could take them out of this slum and bring them somewhere better. where they could start over.
Megan barely hesitated.
She tightened her grip around Norman’s cold hand.
With her other arm, she pulled Sophia close and looked at Norman with clear, steady eyes before turning to Dominic. Her voice was quiet, but every word was firm, carrying the resilience and clarity of someone who had survived hardship.
“We’ll go.
We’re going. I don’t care where that place is or what it’s like. If there’s even the slightest chance it can help you get better, then it’s worth it. As long as we can be together as a family, as long as we never have to be apart again, as long as you never have to go back to a place like that by yourself… we’re going.”
There was no blind excitement in her voice, no unrealistic fantasy, only the simplest and truest choice.
She was choosing to stay together. Choosing to face everything as a family. Choosing to hold on to any chance, no matter how small, that could make life better.
“Mommy…” Sophia looked up at Megan, then at Norman.
She did not fully understand where they were going, but she understood the words “all together.”
She nodded hard and said softly, “I’m going too. I want to stay with Daddy and Mommy.”
Norman looked at Megan and Sophia, his throat tightening again. He could only nod hard, forcing all the emotions surging inside him back down.
He knew that from this moment on, their little family was about to begin a brand-new chapter, one filled with uncertainty but also hope.
Dominic watched the scene, deeply moved.
He stood and said to Norman’s family, and to Emmett as well, “Since you’ve made your decision, we should leave as soon as possible. Everything has already been arranged. A spaceship is ready to take you straight to Planet A001. When you get there, someone will meet you and help you settle in. Norman, Megan, pack your things. We’ll head out for your new home as soon as possible.”
The words “new home” made Norman and Megan’s eyes well up again.
Yes, leaving behind this cramped place filled with sickness, debt, and despair and going somewhere that might offer them a real chance at life and peace–that was where they truly belonged.
Their packing did not take long.
There was not much
o bring anyway: a few old clothes washed so many times they had faded, Sophia’s worn stuffed doll, the military medal Norman had once earned that Megan had carefully wrapped up, and a few scattered household necessities.

hover car slowly lifted into the air, leaving the dim, crumbling slum far behind as it headed toward brightly lit spaceport, a place that symbolized order and hope.
Outside the window, the dazzling nightscape of Centria Planet shimmered with light, but compared to the renewed hope shining in the eyes of the family inside the car, even that brilliance seemed to fade
More and more people were transported to Planet A001 and settled into Tycoon Farm.
