The Starfield Farming Sovereign (Elizabeth Schofield) novel Chapter 393

Chapter 393 Stiff

Trevor spoke right away, “I’ll have the Military Science Division and Intelligence step in. They’ll connect with your team. Keep following this lead. Be careful. Stay safe. Report anything the moment you find it.”

“Understood,” Cristian replied.

After finishing business, Trevor changed the subject. His tone softened, now carrying a bit of concern- and a hint of teasing that only a father would use. “Things have been lively on Planet A001 lately. My daughter-in-law has made quite a splash.”

Cristian stayed calm, but his eyes flickered just a little. He still wasn’t used to that term-“daughter-in-law.”

He gave a quiet acknowledgment.

Trevor watched his almost blank reaction and felt both amused and annoyed. He continued, “She blacklisted the entire Fifth Military. Roman’s been unusually quiet. I don’t think he’ll let this go. He’s probably planning something.” He paused, then added, “If you can wrap up your mission early, maybe come back for a bit. A lot of people are watching Elizabeth. She can handle herself, sure, but she still needs someone who can hold things down and react fast if something happens.”

Trevor stretched his words on purpose, watching Cristian’s face. “You could keep an eye on things, and while you’re at it, spend some time with her. Elizabeth’s got real skill. Her mindset and vision are far from ordinary. If you keep staying out of sight, don’t be surprised if she ends up not liking someone as stiff as

you.”

It was half an arrangement, half a joke-and a father worrying about his son’s love life.

Cristian frowned slightly, clearly not pleased with the “stiff” comment.

His gaze drifted for a moment to a corner beside the communicator. There sat a simple storage container. looking very out of place in the sleek starship.

He turned back to the holographic screen, face calm. But his voice carried a faint, restrained tone, almost casual.

“Her farm sends supplies over from time to time. It’s been a big help.”

He didn’t say who sent them, or who received them. But both he and Trevor knew who “her meant.

He didn’t say what exactly was sent either, or how effective it was. Just a simple, “It helps.

But Trevor immediately caught the deeper meaning in those few plain words.

Ohr Regular deliveries?

Knowing how proud and distant Cristian usually was, the fact that he brought it up at all meant he cared,

So, the two of them weren’t completely out of touch after all.

A knowing smile flashed in Trevor’s eyes, but he didn’t push further. He didn’t want to annoy his son

He nodded and followed the topic. “Yes, her farm’s products are excellent. Good for you, especially dealing with Swarmborn all the time. Since you’re already in contact, that’s even better.” He paused, then added seriously, “I’ll keep an eye on Planet A001. Your mission comes first, but you should manage your priorities too. The Swarmborn mutation is the most important issue-but don’t neglect things back home when it

matters.”

“I understand,” Cristian replied shortly. He clearly didn’t want to continue the topic. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll get back to work.”

“Go ahead. Stay safe.” Trevor ended the call.

The office fell quiet again.

He leaned back in his chair, tapping the armrest lightly with his fingers.

Cristian’s report made him even more wary of the Swarmborn mutations. That threat might be far worse than anything the Fifth Military was secretly planning.

At the same time, Elizabeth and her farm couldn’t be ignored.

They could use the excuse of relocating retired soldiers to send more capable people over. That would add another layer of protection.

And Roman’s silence felt like a ticking bomb. It gave Trevor a bad feeling.

“Looks like we need our watchers to keep a closer eye,” Trevor muttered, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. “Roman, you’d better not have gone completely insane.”
