Chapter 68 A New Storm

“Mom!” Tasha could no longer hold back. She threw herself onto her mother and burst into tears. “Waaah… Mom! You’re better! You’re finally better! You scared me to death! Waaah…
Tiffany tried to raise her hand to pat her daughter’s head, but realized she was still tied up with
ropes.
She smiled helplessly and lovingly. “Silly girl, stop crying first. Help Mom untie the ropes.”
“Okay! Okay! I’ll untie them right now!” Tasha said, tears streaming down her face as she hurriedly fumbled with the knots.
Similar scenes were happening beside the other beds.
The relief of surviving disaster, the long–suppressed worry and fear, all turned into joyful crying and choked whispers.
The sound of hopeful tears made Fiona and Adam’s eyes turn red.
Adam wiped the corner of his eyes with the back of his rough hand and let out a long breath. “Thank heavens… they all made it through…”
Timothy had been watching Tasha being tightly hugged by her mother with envy.
His own mother had died when he was very young.
Now he could barely remember her face.
Hearing the Mr. Rose’s words, he quickly turned his head and seriously corrected him, “Mr. Rose, it’s not thank heavens. It’s thank Ms. Elizabeth! It was Ms. Elizabeth’s potatoes that saved everyone!”
Adam froze for a moment, then nodded repeatedly. “Right, right! Timothy is right! We should thank Ms. Schofield! She’s our great benefactor!”
After the wave of emotions passed, the shack gradually became quiet.
The survivors sat together, listening as Adam and Timothy told them about the mysterious “Ms. Schofield.”
Timothy’s eyes sparkled as he spoke with gratitude. “Ms. Elizabeth is really nice! Before, Yvonne was starving and almost couldn’t make it. It was Ms. Elizabeth who exchanged liquid supplements for the ‘dirt clumps‘ I picked up and saved Yvonne!”
He gestured with his hands. “Ms. Elizabeth also said she wants all kinds of plant seeds. Rotten

ones, shriveled ones, it doesn’t matter. We can trade them to her for liquid supplements!”

Adam added, “We went to Ms. Schofield’s place today mainly to help her clear trash, turn over the soil, and build fences. But I saw that the land she fenced off isn’t very big. The work probably won’t last many days. If we want more potatoes later, we’ll probably have to rely on kids like Timothy to search everywhere for plant seeds to trade.”
Fiona seemed to think of something and hesitated before speaking. “Mr. Rose, you said… Ms. Schofield asked you to turn over the soil?”
Adam nodded. “Yes, and it had to be done carefully. There were requirements for depth and evenness.”
Fiona looked at her husband, Melton, her tone full of disbelief. “Melton, do you think… those potatoes from Ms. Schofield… could they have been grown by her?”
As soon as she said this, everyone froze.
Then they all shook their heads, feeling it was impossible.
Tiffany held her daughter and looked puzzled. “Aren’t crops grown with liquid supplements in water culture? What does that have to do with turning soil?”
Adam also shook his head. “Exactly. The kingdom’s land hasn’t been able to grow edible natura crops for a long time. Our Garbage Planet’s environment is a thousand times worse. It’s even more impossible.”
Fiona felt embarrassed. “I was just guessing…”
Melton, who had been silent, suddenly spoke. “Maybe the source of her potatoes has something to do with her ‘husband’s family.”
“Husband’s family?” Everyone leaned closer in confusion. “Melton, do you know Ms. Schofield’s husband’s family?”
Melton shook his head, then operated his old optical computer and pulled up a news report to show everyone.
It was an announcement broadcast to the entire kingdom. The content was simple but shocking -General Hewitt and Ms. Schofield had a perfect genetic match and had officially entered into marriage.
“Cristian?! That… Hewitts?!” Adam gasped, his voice trembling.
Melton nodded heavily.
Adam murmured, “No wonder… If it’s that Hewitts, having such magical potatoes wouldn’t be

strange…
The Hewitts had enormous power in the kingdom. To ordinary people, it seemed natural tha they would possess rare and unknown resources.
Timothy listened in confusion and asked curiously, “Mr. Rose, is General Hewitt someone ve powerful?”
“Yes, very powerful,” Adam said in a complicated tone.
