Chapter 335 Bandaging Wounds

Sebastian’s cut wasn’t very deep, but with Riley clutching his hand, her nerves obvious, what he felt went beyond the sting of the wound. There was also the cool, smooth touch of her fingertips against his skin.
He glanced down at her worried expression, and the usual ice in his gaze seemed to soften just a little.
Casually, he pulled his hand back and said calmly, “Honestly, I can barely feel it. It’s really nothing.”
“How can you say it’s nothing?”
Riley didn’t buy his casual tone for a second. Looking at the cut on his palm, still seeping blood, she felt as if the knife had sliced into her own heart–a sharp, aching sting all at once.
She took hold of his wrist before he could argue. “Come upstairs with me. We need to take care of this now.“”
Sebastian studied her red–rimmed eyes and pressed–together lips, and the words it’s really fine stuck in his throat.
He let her lead him, following her into the elevator.
The trip from the cold, shadowy underground garage back to the bright, open living room of the villa took less than a minute, yet it felt like stepping between two different worlds.
Riley had him sit on the sofa, then hurried off to get the first–aid kit.
She moved quickly, but when she opened the kit, her hands trembled slightly–the fear from what had almost happened still lingering.
Taking a steadying breath, she forced herself to focus. She laid out cotton swabs, antiseptic, and bandages neatly on the coffee
table.
Returning to him, she took his injured hand again.
This time, she was closer.
The raw red of the cut stood in stark contrast against his pale skin.
Riley’s chest tightened. She dipped a cotton swab in antiseptic and kept her voice soft, as if trying not to startle him. “This might sting a little. Just hang in there.”
Her eyes stayed down, intent.
Her motions were unusually gentle and precise as she cleaned the blood around the wound, careful not to cause more pain.
Sebastian stayed quiet, just watching her.
When the antiseptic touched the cut, a sharp burn spread through his hand, but he hardly noticed.
All his attention seemed fixed on the cool brush of her fingertips and the faint, clean scent that came from her.
The air carried the sterile smell of antiseptic mixed with the metallic hint of blood, but to him, the stillness of that moment felt strangely safe.

Only when Riley had carefully wrapped his hand in a clean bandage and tied it off with a small, neat knot did she finally exhale. She looked up, her expression serious “How did you end up in the garage just then?”
Sebastian glanced at the tidy bandage–so at odds with his usual rugged style–and a flicker of amusement crossed his eyes. Then he met her gaze and explained, “I saw the news about you online. I was concerned, so I had some of my people in the area keep an
eye out.
“They told me a few suspicious individuals had gotten onto the property I guessed they might try to get to you, and the weakest point in your security–the easiest place to reach you–would be the garage.”
Riley felt the lingering fear slowly ease.
She said sincerely, “I’m glad you were there, Sebastian. You saved me again.”
But Sebastian didn’t acknowledge the thanks. His eyes remained locked on her face, intense, as though trying to read past her words. His voice was low and earnest. “I’m still angry I didn’t get here sooner. You shouldn’t have had to go through that scare.”
Under his gaze, Riley shifted slightly and looked away.
She really hadn’t expected that even living in Louvian Port–a gated community known for having some of the tightest security in all of Havenbrook–safety could still be an issue.
