Chapter 455 Stephen Can’t Wait to Meet Sebastian
Sebastian was quiet for a moment, then let out a cold, short laugh. “Don’t worry. He won’t dare,” he said.

He spoke with total authority. The message was plain: the fool next door would stay in line as long as he remained seated.
That was when David finally understood why Riley’d asked Sebastian to book two adjacent rooms. She must have smelled Stephen’s intentions from the start but didn’t want to blow the deal up just yet, so she’d brought her actual husband along as backup.
So what if she dined alone with him? Her real backup was just on the other side of the wall. One light tap on the table leg would wipe Stephen off Nexopolis’ map for good.
Inside the other room, Stephen’s mind had already flown out the window.
He’d been straining his ears toward the neighboring room from the moment they sat down. When he caught the low murmur of voices and the respectful tones of the waitstaff, he knew Sebastian had arrived.
Being one wall away from a player at that level was killing him. The documents in front of him might as well have been blank pages.
Finally, he just cut Riley off mid-sentence, right as she was pressing him on cost controls.
“Ah, Ms. Harper, we’ll circle back to the details later.” He scrambled to his feet and straightened his tie, a smug smile spreading across his face. “To be honest, I know Mr. Torres next door pretty well. Old friends, actually. Now that he’s here, it’s only right I go say hello. Play the host a little. You sit tight, enjoy your coffee. I’ll be right back.”
He didn’t wait for her reaction or catch the mocking glint in her eyes. He pushed through the door and practically skipped toward what he thought was his golden ticket.
Riley stayed seated and watched him flee. She lifted her coffee, sipped slowly, and an amused smile tugged at her lips.
Next door, the table was filled with exquisite dishes that gleamed under the lights. Every plate carried Seavoir Bistro’s signature refinement and luxury.
David had just lifted his glass when his phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen, and his face softened instantly. He stood, walked to the window, and answered, his voice dropping low.
“Hey, honey. Yeah, I’m at Seavoir Bistro with Mr. Torres. Having dinner here, so I won’t be home. You and the kids eat without me. Yeah, I’ll try to get back early. Love you,” he said.
He hung up and walked back to the table with a smile still lingering.
Sebastian had caught the whole thing. “Mr. Anderson, it’s nice to see a man so devoted to his family,” he said.
David let out a warm, unguarded laugh. “Yeah, my wife and I have been together since college. Almost thirty years now,” he said, sharing it without holding back. “My business has had its ups and downs. At one point, I was close to going under, and she never once thought about leaving. She was a university professor back then. Had a real shot at a fellowship overseas, but she gave it up for the family. Honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am without her. Definitely wouldn’t be sitting here having dinner with you, Mr.
Torres”
Sebastian made a quiet sound of acknowledgment. He was about to say something when a knock came at the door.

David shot Sebastian a questioning look. Sebastian gave no sign, so David got up and opened the door.
There stood Stephen, fresh from the next room, a glass of wine in his hand and a greasy smile plastered across his face.
The moment David saw him, his expression shut down cold. “Stephen, what do you want?” he asked flatly.
