“The Harper family raised you for all these years, fed you, clothed you, gave you every comfort; we’ve done more than enough. Don’t be so ungrateful that you burn your own bridges.” Raymond added.
Elsie’s eyes instantly welled up with tears.
Her voice trembled as she asked, “Raymond… now that you have a real sister, you won’t even acknowledge me anymore?”
For the past two decades, this act of wounded innocence had served her flawlessly, and it had never failed.
But Raymond didn’t even blink.
He turned away coldly. “Dad made it crystal clear at the banquet, in front of the entire city. From now on, the Harper family has only one lady-Riley. And I have only one sister.
“Take care of yourself.”
Melissa and Elsie stood frozen, both reeling as if something had exploded inside their heads.
Melissa was the first to snap out of it. She couldn’t believe Zavier could be so ruthless. “How could he say something so cruel?! Elsie called him Dad for twenty years, and now he’s tossing her out with one sentence? How is she supposed to survive in Nexopolis after this?”
Elsie staggered backward as though she’d been struck.
She stared at Raymond with desperate eyes, playing the victim to perfection. “Raymond… is Dad trying to drive me to my death?
“Enough!” Raymond barked, his gaze sharp. “Spare me the dramatics!
“From the very day Riley came back, has Dad ever given you a hard time? Hasn’t he told you both to treat her well?
“He left you your dignity. But you had to keep targeting her openly and behind her back, treating her like an enemy. Since you showed no decency first, don’t blame us for playing hardball now.”
Raymond couldn’t stomach another word.
He turned and addressed the butler waiting at the door. “Get some people together immediately. Pack up everything that belong
to Elsie and have it removed.”
The butler acknowledged the order with a respectful “Yes, sir,” but hesitated-clearly caught off guard by the sudden turn of events.
Without looking back, Raymond added coldly, “And the house and the sports car Dad gifted to Elsie, start the paperwork tomorro to reclaim both. From today on, Elsie is not to represent herself as a Harper heiress in any capacity.”
With that final blow, Raymond strode out, unwilling to linger a second longer, lest he lose control and say or do something worse.
Elsie’s legs gave out. She slid down the wall and collapsed onto the sofa in a heap.
“Elsie! Are you okay?” Melissa finally snapped back to reality and rushed to hold her.
Elsie sobbed hysterically. “Dad is taking everything back… the house, the car… it’s all gone… Mom, I’ll have nothing left!”

“Don’t worry!” Melissa held her tight, murmuring reassurances. “Even if I de divorce your father, I still have money. My savings over the years are all yours! Whatever the Harpers won’t give you, I wil!!”
But even Melissa could hear how hollow her own words sounded.
Her private fortune was a drop in the bucket compared to the Harper empire.
Meanwhile, as Riley basked in her moment of triumph in the banquet hall, the scheming mother and daughter had been utterly defeated; they were cast out of the Harper family’s inner circle in disgrace.
And things were about to get far worse than Elsie ever imagined.
When she finally returned home, dazed and clinging to Melissa, and got her phone back, it was flooded with countless messages and missed calls.
She opened the app. In the group chat with friends who used to flatter her endlessly, chaos had erupted.
Countless mentions flooded in, all asking about the Harpers publicly disowning her at the banquet.
