The Ultimate Beast World Glow-Up novel Chapter 1

Apocalypse? I Prefer the Beast World Real Estate Market

Chapter 1 Reincarnated Into a Villain

“Rosalie Bennet, you’re despicable! You’d stoop to such shameless tricks just to get close to me!”
The man looming over Rosalie panted roughly, a sharp dagger pressed against her neck, drawing a thin line of blood.
Her mind was in chaos. The man hovering over her was flushed, his crimson eyes filled with suppressed fury and disgust as he glared at her.
Rosalie was confused. One second ago, she had fallen into a horde of zombies to protect her teammate, the pain of zombie bites still lingering through her body.
The next second, she opened her eyes and found a handsome man pinning her down, staring at her with hatred.
Her head throbbed, and a surge of chaotic memories flooded in.
Holding her forehead, she finally understood—she had reincarnated into a beast world where females ruled over males.
The original owner of this body was lazy, gluttonous, ugly, and obese, so everyone avoided her. Living off the fact that her mother was the tribe leader, she did all sorts of evil things, often snatching away good-looking beastmen and dragging them home.
This time, she went even further. Declan Richardson had only stopped by the tribe for lodging, but Rosalie fell in love with him at first sight. After being rejected, she flew into a rage, ordered her beastman to restrain Declan, then drugged him with an aphrodisiac to force him.
The man who looked like he wanted to kill Rosalie on the spot was Declan Richardson.
Rosalie’s nerves twitched. The original owner of this body was dead, but she had left Rosalie with this massive mess.
Declan was pulled away from her, the dagger clattering to the ground with a crisp ring.
The wound on Rosalie’s neck wasn’t deep, only slightly bleeding.
Having lived through the apocalypse, she didn’t care about such minor injuries.
Ignoring her neck, she quickly apologized. “Sorry. I shouldn’t have done something like this.
“Before anything else happens, you should leave. Now.”
Declan’s already flushed face darkened even further. His eyes burned with hatred, as if he wanted to rip her to pieces.
The man restraining Declan had a pair of seductive fox-like eyes, his lifted eye-corners alluring.
His tall figure exuded an almost bewitching scent, pale skin, and blood-red lips adding to his strange charm. He sneered, “Matriarch, what a wonderful plan.
“The entire tribe saw Declan walk into your house.
“And now he’s in this condition, yet you tell him to leave and insist nothing happened? Who would believe that?
“If you can’t have him, you want him beaten to death instead?”
Rosalie’s face paled. She suddenly remembered the rules of this world. If a beastman lost his purity with a female but wasn’t officially accepted into her household, he would be executed on the spot.
Her four beastmen were all obtained by similarly forceful means.
Of course, everyone hated Rosalie’s touch. She had never actually laid hands on any of them.
Whenever Rosalie was rejected, she would go crazy and torture her beastmen—whipping them, forcing them to stand shirtless in the snow, and countless other abuses.
Seeing Rosalie’s expression change, a distant, chilly voice said, “Cameron, do not be rude to our Matriarch.”
Cameron Finlay reluctantly shut his mouth.
The speaker had dark hair cascading like a waterfall, an exquisitely cold and beautiful face, and a posture as straight as bamboo. His aura was frigid, and his gaze toward Rosalie was like ice.
Just standing there, he exuded indifference and distance.
“Matriarch,” he said coldly, “even if you’re finding a new beastman, there are better ways. What you’re doing… it’s just not right.”
Rosalie remembered—this was her black panther beastman, Leon Meresome.
Leon was suspicious by nature and held grudges deeply. Ever since he had fallen into Rosalie’s trap, he had hated her endlessly.
Though Leon’s tone was gentler than Cameron’s, his words still made Rosalie want to crawl into a hole.
If she had a choice, she wouldn’t want any of them.
Rosalie tentatively called out in her mind, “System?”
A crackling static sounded. “I’m here,” the calm system voice replied. Rosalie finally exhaled in relief. Good—her system had transmigrated with her.
In the apocalypse, the system had helped her survive countless life-or-death moments. Now, in this foreign world, the system was the only companion she had. A faint bitterness rose in her heart.
She opened the system shop in her mind, used the points she’d earned from killing zombies, and exchanged them for a Detox Pill.
Even though Declan was drugged with an aphrodisiac, medicine was medicine, so a Detox Pill would still work.
A black pill appeared in her palm. Rosalie straightened her clothes and walked toward Declan.
“Don’t come any closer!”
Declan roared at her, the deep, resonant sound vibrating her chest. She handed him the pill.
“This is a Detox Pill. It can purge the drug from your system.”
Declan didn’t believe for one second that she would suddenly be kind. He assumed she was trying to feed him something else to make him obey.
Seeing his distrust, Rosalie split the pill in half and swallowed one half.
“My mother is the tribe leader. She gave me this Detox Pill.
“If you take it sooner, you can leave sooner.”
Declan froze. Rosalie’s sincerity didn’t look fake.
Things couldn’t get any worse anyway. He snatched the Detox Pill and swallowed it whole.
The raging fire in his chest gradually died down. Sweat dampened his hair, making the strands stick to his sharp, handsome face, intensifying his wild allure.
His upper garment was gone; a thin sheen of sweat highlighted his sculpted muscles, his masculine scent nearly overwhelming.
Catching Rosalie’s involuntary glance, Declan yelled, “What are you looking at? Disgusting!”
Leon said indifferently, “You cannot speak to her that way.”
He looked like he was defending Rosalie, but didn’t actually move. It was all for show—Rosalie’s misery was his delight.
Rosalie cleared her throat. “Now that the drug has worn off, hurry and leave. If you stay any longer, you won’t be able to.”
Declan grabbed his pelt. “Of course.”
Leon’s dark eyes examined Rosalie. Her body was still fat and clumsy—unchanged from before.
But in the past, whenever she wanted to touch them, they would always reject her, and she would fly into violent rages.
But now, she was letting them go?
Leon didn’t believe it. Cameron believed even less, letting out a cold snort. “Hypocrite.”
They thought Rosalie was pretending, but Rosalie truly just wanted to send the ticking time bomb away.
However, the worst always came at the worst time.
Before Declan could leave, loud voices approached, blocking the entrance.
Before the crowd arrived, accusations flew first, “You wretched girl, you’re kidnapping beastmen again!”
From memory, Rosalie recognized the speaker. It was her mother, the tribe leader.
Beside her, a female who resembled Rosalie by seventy percent scolded, “Rosalie, you’ve disappointed Mother again! How could you do something like this?
“Mother already said she won’t clean up your mess anymore. Take your beastmen and get out of the tribe!”
Her mother said nothing and simply looked at Rosalie with deep disappointment.
Rosalie felt nothing toward this “family drama.” She felt no sadness, no guilt—if anything, she felt relieved. Since she wasn’t the original owner, if they noticed anything strange, she might be killed as an outsider.
Being kicked out was actually good.
Her mother’s sharp gaze landed on Declan. “Capture that beastman and drown him!”
Several strong beastmen restrained Declan. “Let go of me!” he roared, struggling uselessly.
Rosalie hesitated. She had nearly ruined Declan’s purity, so he probably wanted to kill her.
But she didn’t want to keep him, as keeping him was like storing a ticking bomb beside her.
Yet the mess was caused by the original owner. Even if Rosalie wasn’t the one who drugged him, she now occupied the original’s body and couldn’t simply ignore it.
Cameron, panicking, lost control of his form. Nine fox tails flared out, blocking the doorway.
He was filled with regret. Knowing what kind of lustful monster his Matriarch was, he never should’ve invited Declan to stay. None of this would have happened.
If Declan died, Cameron would take the matter to the authorities. Even if they chopped off his nine tails, he would sever ties with Rosalie. He refused to endure her madness any longer.
Seeing the chaos, Rosalie raised her hand and said, “I’ll take responsibility for Declan. From today on, he is my beastman.”
Everyone froze. Declan bared his teeth, his golden pupils narrowing into vertical slits, looking dangerously feral.
Rosalie’s mother waved her hand.
“Then gather your beastmen and leave the tribe today!”
