Fabian’s chest burned like fire. Rage clawed inside him. He wanted to tear apart the one who had twisted his sister into a zombie.
But the instant he stumbled into the corridor, he froze. Chaos exploded before his eyes. The elevator doors were wide open. Theresa stood there, calm and unshaken.
He charged forward, his voice booming through the comms in his ear.
“All units hear me! Someone broke into Workshop 3! Lock down the upper floors! Security squad, get down here now!”
Theresa’s lips curved into a sly, mocking smile.
Fabian’s eyes narrowed. His comms had gone silent. Static hissed, then nothing. The line was dead.
An electromagnetic pulse.
Panic ripped through his gut. He thrust his control ability toward her with raw fury.
Theresa used Power Pulse.
The power never reached her. A surge of energy slammed into him instead. His ability vanished like smoke.
His eyes widened. His body shook as he stared at Theresa. Fear spread through his chest like ice
water.
Zombies swarmed toward her. Each one crashed against her shield and fell away.
Her voice cut the air, cold and merciless. “Relax. I’ll wait until you and your sister reunite before I leave.”
The words struck him like steel.
His head roared. His mind spun.
Behind him, Gabriella’s broken body contorted. Bones snapped in grotesque angles. Her mouth gaped wide, and her teeth clamped down on his foot.
“Ahhh!”
His scream split the air, raw and terrified.

She lifted her hand. Fire burst skyward and poured down like a storm. Fabian and his sister were consumed. In a blink, nothing but ash remained.
The ground shuddered as another wave of zombies charged, blood dripping from their
mouths.
Theresa turned sharply. A barrier of air blasted outward, hurling them aside.
Her voice rang with venom. “Rot in hell! You fools can’t even find the right enemy!”
She shoved the creatures away, then spun back to the elevator.
Tania still lay slumped inside.
Theresa dragged her out, cloaked them both in another shield, and shoved a whole cart of zombies into the elevator.
A beep pierced the noise.
The doors slid open.
Gunfire erupted.
Bullets ripped into the elevator in a storm.
. But the guards outside did not find a human body.
They found an elevator filled to the brim with snarling zombies.
The creatures smelled fresh flesh the moment the doors opened.
They shrieked together and hurled themselves at the soldiers.
Bullets tore into them, but they kept charging, savage and relentless.
Theresa stayed below, steady and precise.
She swiped Gabriella’s card again and again.
Each beep sent another horde upward.
Wave after wave. Ruthless. Heartless.
After four full waves, she finally shoved Tania back into the elevator.

Chapter 628 Melee
Half the zombies stayed behind, a trap for anyone waiting.
Another beep.
The doors opened again.
The gate to the restricted zone swung wide.
The floor above had already fallen.
Blood painted the walls.
Bodies lay strewn across the hall. Survivors screamed as teeth tore into them.

Theresa raised her Aeroshield again, blasting back anything in her path. She shoved the cart forward, Tania’s limp form jostling with every step.
She ran through the carnage. Along the road she spotted trucks stacked with containers of Eclipse Serum.
She stopped only for a breath. With a single motion, she swept them into her domain.
Then she ran again.
No one blocked her without dying.
No door held her without breaking.
She burst through the final exit. Sunlight seared her eyes.
Morning had come.
She had spent an entire night clawing through the dark.
Six or seven o’clock.
Theresa pressed forward with Tania on the cart.
Behind her, a tide of zombies spilled out in a frenzy.
The alarms of Workshop 3 blared across the island.
Sirens wailed, shrill and piercing.
From the distance came the thunder of boots striking in unison. A squad of guards stormed in, their steps rattling the earth.

Chapter 628 Meipe
Another beep cracked the air.
The gates burst open.
Security guards flooded the hall. Their faces were grim. Most were ability users.
Theresa’s eyes snapped forward. She saw Sage. She saw Drew.
Sage’s gaze locked on her. His brow tightened with fury.
“Kill the zombies!” His voice was sharp and commanding. His eyes pinned her in place for three long seconds.
Theresa spun and bolted. She dashed toward the low wall where she had first slipped inside.
She set Tania down for an instant. Her aunt’s body was limp. She had slipped into unconsciousness.
Theresa heaved her up again.
With raw strength, she scaled the wall and crossed into Workshop 2.
The air there was thick and suffocating. Dread pressed down on every worker.
They all stood gathered in the yard. Kobe had summoned them.
He knew disaster had struck. His eyes sliced through the crowd like blades.
He barked orders. He dragged strangers into the open.
He uncovered several who did not belong. They had slipped in from Workshop 3.
Among them was Caleb.
Kobe’s face hardened into rage. His voice cut like iron. “Traitors. Every one of you. Spies. Take them away!”
