The Undead and Unstoppable Apocalyptic Queen novel Chapter 652

**TITLE: Kept Woman 652**
**CONTENT: Chapter 652 Evolution**

Tania shook her head slowly, her expression a mix of confusion and fatigue. The furrowed lines on her forehead remained tightly pinched, and her eyes seemed distant, lost in a haze that was hard to penetrate.

“Let her rest for a while. That’s what she truly needs at this moment,” Professor K’s voice floated in from the corner, cool and detached, yet somehow reassuring.

Theresa, her heart heavy with concern, turned to him, her voice laced with a hint of hope. “So she’s really alright now?”

“She’ll be fine after some sleep,” he assured her, his tone matter-of-fact.

A long, relieved breath escaped Theresa’s lips, a weight lifting from her chest. She looked down at Tania, who still appeared fragile, as if the world had drained her of strength. Gently, she pulled a soft blanket over her, tucking it around her. “Aunt Tania, get some sleep. Don’t worry about anything. You’re home now. No one will ever touch you again.”

At the sound of Theresa’s soothing voice, the tension in Tania’s brow began to ease, her features softening as she drifted into a peaceful slumber, the chaos of her past momentarily forgotten.

Once Theresa was certain that Tania was sound asleep, she rose quietly, her movements deliberate and careful. She cast a glance at the dogs lounging in the room, silently commanding them to stay put and keep watch over their beloved companion.

Then, she turned her gaze to Professor K, signaling him to follow her outside.

With a subtle nod, he called to his dog, which eagerly tugged his wheelchair toward the door, its tail wagging in anticipation.

Outside, the air was crisp, and the atmosphere was charged with a sense of vigilance. Kyle, Tyger, Elias, and Quentin were already stationed outside, their postures alert and ready.

As soon as Theresa stepped out into the open, all four of them turned their attention to her, their expressions shifting from concern to curiosity. Kyle was the first to break the silence, his voice filled with urgency. “How is she?”

“She woke up,” Theresa replied, the relief evident in her tone.

A collective sigh escaped the lips of the group, a moment of shared relief washing over them.

Theresa didn’t waste time with unnecessary praise. Instead, she guided Professor K to the small pavilion nestled outside her bunker, a place where they could speak more freely. “Old man, about that Legion Evoloid you mentioned. What is it?”

“I’m tired. I’m going back,” Professor K replied flatly, his weariness palpable.

“Woof woof!” His dog barked twice, its enthusiasm a stark contrast to its owner’s demeanor.

The dog wasn’t trying to assert dominance; it merely craved attention and playtime with Theresa.

She glanced at the eager pup and tossed it a large, meaty bone. “Go on, enjoy yourself.”

The dog lit up with excitement, its tail wagging furiously as if it might take flight. It circled the bone in a frenzy but didn’t immediately eat it. Instead, it scratched at Professor K’s wheelchair, seeking his approval.

With an exasperated sigh, Professor K urged, “Go eat.”

The dog let out a soft whine, its eyes pleading, before it finally lunged at the bone, chewing with unwavering dedication.

Theresa turned her attention back to Professor K, her voice low and conspiratorial. “Old man, still feeling tired? If you tell me what I want to know, I’ll make sure your dog gets the best meat and bones every day.”

Theresa felt her heart race at the familiar term, her mind momentarily blank as she processed the implications.

Evolution again. Tania’s ex told me the same thing. Is the Starborn Order trying to use this to push humanity forward? Are they planning to turn everyone into an ability user?

“Last question. What’s the highest rank in your Starborn Order? As an S-Rank employee, you must be part of the inner circle.”

She had struck a nerve with that inquiry.

Professor K regarded her with a calculating look. “In the Starborn Order, ranks A, B, and C are just regular outside hires. Only S-Rank and above are considered core members. Right now, the highest level is SS-Rank. They’re the ones making the major decisions, and there are ten of them.”

Ten of them. And it reminds me of Aunt Tania’s ex, Herold Norris. He seems like he’s one of the SS-Rank.

“But the Starborn Order doesn’t have a true leader at the moment,” he added, a strange glint in his eyes as he locked onto Theresa’s gaze.

“Why not?” she asked, her curiosity piqued further.

“The core leader is still being created,” Professor K explained, his expression enigmatic as he stared at her.

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

“I’m tired,” he cut her off, a definitive end to their conversation. He tugged on his dog’s leash, which looked up at him with a mix of longing and confusion, still heartbroken over the half-eaten piece of meat it had been denied.
