The Undead and Unstoppable Apocalyptic Queen novel Chapter 664

**Kept Woman 664**
**The Apocalyptic Queen Theresa**

**Chapter 664: The Burden of The Weak**

“Are all these people really coming with us?”

“Yes.”

That was it. Just one word, yet it felt like a declaration.

Lily inclined her head, her expression a mix of determination and concern. Behind her stood five operatives, each one a testament to the strength of their base. She elaborated, “They’re the strongest we have at the moment.”

Theresa’s gaze swept over the five ability users, her mind racing as she assessed their potential.

Metal, wood, water, fire, earth. Each wielded basic elemental abilities, all hovering around level three. There was speed and strength amongst them, but was that truly enough?

“No need for all of them. Just send one with me. The rest should stay at your base.”

Theresa’s voice was firm, a resolve that came from experience. She was acutely aware of the weight of responsibility she carried.

To Lily, these operatives were the pinnacle of strength. To Theresa, however, they fell short of the mark.

Bringing them along would only stretch resources thinner than they already were. It was a strategic decision—better to leave them behind, ready to defend their home. If the zombies decided to swarm again, they might still serve a purpose, however small.

Lily hesitated, her brow furrowing. “But there are many Level 5 zombies out there. Are you absolutely sure about this?”

The gravity of the situation hit her hard.

“Fine. Calvin, you go with Ms. Hall,” she conceded, her voice tinged with reluctance.

Calvin stepped forward, his tall frame towering at nearly 1.8 meters. He possessed dual abilities—fire and strength—making him a formidable ally. His dark skin glistened under the harsh lights of the base, and his sharp eyes exuded a commanding presence that demanded respect.

Theresa turned to Lily, requesting communicators to maintain contact with the others. With that, she boarded the helicopter alongside her team and Calvin, their destination set for the military testing ground.

Inside the helicopter, Calvin’s demeanor was calm, yet his thoughts churned. He cast a cool glance at the others, assessing their readiness.

“Your base’s equipment is pretty good,” he remarked, a hint of approval in his tone.

“Not bad,” Graham replied, gripping his gun tightly, a sense of bravado in his voice.

“But once we get there, guns won’t be much use,” Calvin cautioned, his tone shifting to seriousness. “All our allies down there are ability-users. Once we’re underground, only abilities or melee weapons will be effective.”

“Why bring so many people? Theresa can handle anything on her own!” Graham boasted, his pride evident.

Calvin’s gaze landed on Theresa, the woman at the center of it all. She stood confidently, not even wearing a helmet, as if she did not fear what lay ahead.

Whir whirwhir

The zombies opened their stringy, gaping mouths, their stiff limbs flailing wildly as they surged forward.

The helicopter lowered a rope ladder onto the highest rooftop, and three or four operatives clad in black combat suits began their descent.

As they landed on the roof, they were immediately met with the sight of zombies swarming upward, drawn like moths to a flame.

The roof was low, only a single story high, with rusted iron stairs leading down to the chaos below.

Clang clang.

The zombies eagerly clambered up the stairs, their movements frantic. Most were intact, missing no limbs, though a few bore the marks of their tragic fate, with necks bitten and torn.

A handful were in far worse condition, missing stomachs or chunks of their brains, grotesque reminders of the horrors they had endured.

Leading the charge was a soldier zombie in tattered camouflage, its pale face marred by black veins, glaring with gray, bloodthirsty eyes.

Raaah—

The soldier zombie lunged forward, bounding up the stairs in a frenzy, head bobbing violently as it zeroed in on Graham, who stood at the forefront, ready to face the oncoming storm.
