Everything Lily had given up for him–Harrance dismissed without a second thought.
She had offered him her entire heart, yet he betrayed her.

Even worse, he had once entertained the thought of having it all without consequence.
He had been utterly wrong.
“So, you know Ms. Barnes from Blazing Sun Camp?” Wesley asked, having overheard Harrance mention her name.
Harrance merely stared blankly at Lily as she served the food, saying nothing.
Eli spoke up, “It’s no surprise if you’ve heard of her. Ms. Barnes is renowned in our alliance— beautiful, powerful, and easy to get along with. Almost everyone at our camp admires her.”
At last, Harrance turned his head. “What did you just say?”
“I said she has a lot of admirers. Ms. Barnes is even more popular than Juno. Her fan camp is enormous.”
“Watch your mouth, kid!” Juno glared sharply at him.
“Juno, I’m not saying you aren’t impressive–you are. But she’s from Blazing Sun Camp, which is top–tier in our records.” Eli faced Harrance again. “You just arrived, so you might not realize. In our alliance, Blazing Sun Camp is the strongest.”
Eli continued, “Don’t let their smaller size fool you. Every single one of them is elite. Their benefits are unmatched. Recently, our leader, Ms. Hall, pegged all our camp perks to match theirs. On top of that, they offer countless extra advantages. From top to bottom, inside and out, they set the standard. Ms. Barnes is even one of Ms. Hall’s personal guards now. Can you honestly say she isn’t the fan favorite?”
Listening to this, Harrance’s expression darkened, a bitter smile forming. After he let her go, Lily had become adored by everyone. He had let a treasure slip away.
“Harrance, what’s wrong?” Juno asked, noticing his pale face.
He didn’t answer. He lifted his chopsticks and ate in silence, though his gaze kept drifting toward Lily.
Juno sensed he was carrying something hidden, a weight from life that had worn him down.
“Harrance, did you come here because of the alliance broadcast?” she asked.

Finally, he spoke. “No. I lost my wife. I came looking for her.”
Wesley and Eli exchanged wide–eyed looks of shock.
Leaning closer, Juno asked, “Is your wife here at our camp too?”
“Yes.”
“Who is she?”
“I’ll tell you when I bring her back,” Harrance replied, his eyes fixed dreamily on Lily, radiant amidst the attention.
Lily didn’t even glance at him.
Meanwhile, Theresa was in her office, reviewing the recently stabilized situation. She called for Bennie, who had just assumed his new position.
“Do you have the latest development report ready?”
Bennie sighed. “Theresa, I swear I’ll follow your lead from now on, but I’m just starting this role. Can you cut me some slack?”
Theresa blinked.
“Bennie, those who are capable take on greater responsibilities,” she said, rising to meet his eyes with a bright, encouraging smile. “I know you can handle this.”
The battle had changed Bennie.
His natural arrogance had softened. The cold mask he once wore now revealed genuine emotion. The spoiled rich–kid attitude Theresa had known was gone.
He felt almost like kneeling before her, begging for mercy. “I can’t.”
“Don’t sulk, Bennie. I know this round was tough, but you did well. How about I boost your camp’s points?”
He turned away. “I really can’t.”
“Bennie, everyone knows you’re the strongest here. No challenge can take you down. You’ve got this!”
He finally let go of his pride. “Fine. Wait here. I’ll go write the report.”
