Korbin's face was a mask of stark terror, with cold sweat pouring down. He knew in his heart he had provoked a truly terrifying enemy.
Whap!
Stefan backhanded him across the face, sending Korbin flying once more, stars exploding before his eyes.
"Kill him! Everyone, get him! He can't hold us all off alone!" Simon's face had gone pale with fear. He roared the command and immediately offered a hefty bounty to the black-suited thugs in the room to swarm Stefan. "One million for anyone who cuts him! A hundred million for his head!"
These men, trained enforcers of the Tiger Head Society sent here specifically to deal with Stefan, saw red at the promise of such riches just for landing a blow.
"Kill him!" Several fierce-looking bruisers bellowed, brandishing their long knives as they charged.
Stefan's expression darkened. He shot forward like an arrow, disarming one man bare-handed. Then, with a flash of steel, thwack! A head flew into the air before thudding to the floor.
Stefan reversed his grip and slashed horizontally. Infused with true energy, the blade unleashed a terrifying arc of force that sliced two more attackers clean in half at the waist. Viscera spilled across the floor in a horrific, chilling spectacle.
"Step forward, and you die," Stefan stated coolly, the long knife held loosely at his side. His tone was calm, yet it carried a bone-chilling, murderous intent.
Instantly, the remaining thugs froze as if their feet were cast in lead. Trembling from head to toe, none dared move another inch.
Too ruthless! He killed without batting an eye!
Though these Tiger Head Society men were hardened killers with blood on their hands, they were thoroughly cowed by Stefan's display. Simon's promised bounty was completely forgotten. Money was good, but only if you were alive to spend it.
Simon's face was deathly white, his legs trembling. A pampered young master like him had never witnessed such brutal carnage. The moment he regained his senses, he wasted no words—he simply turned and bolted for the exit.
"Hah." Stefan gave a cold laugh and hurled the long knife in his hand.
Thwip! Thwip!
The blade shot past, cleanly severing Simon's legs at the knees.
"B-boss, I... I..." Korbin's lips moved soundlessly. Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, a chill surging through his body, locking his muscles.
"Well, well. I didn't take you for such a loyal man, Korbin," Stefan said, eyes narrowing with a hint of amusement. "Willing to sacrifice yourself to protect the Prescott heir?"
Korbin trembled, mouth agape, but it felt like a hand was squeezing his throat. Words refused to come.
"Hahahaha..." Simon, lying in a growing pool of his own blood, let out a crazed laugh, his voice frosty. "You bastard! You don't dare kill me yourself, so you want Korbin to do it? He wouldn't dare touch me either! In my eyes, he's just a dog. Since when does a dog bite its master?"
"FUCK YOUR MOTHER!" Korbin exploded. "Who the hell are you calling a dog? You're the one lying there like a dead mutt! Still putting on airs at a time like this? You're just a worthless piece of trash! Without the Prescott name, you're less than a dog!"
Simon's arrogant, contemptuous words were the final straw. Korbin's pent-up rage shattered all restraint. If it hadn't been for Simon coming to him, making him buy this building and extort the Reeds, none of this would be happening!
Blind with fury, Korbin snatched up the long knife from the floor. He lunged forward, and with two brutal swings, severed both of Simon's arms.
