Under One Roof 

HANNAH’S POV: 

A WEEK LATER: 

I doubt anyone in the history of time had ever been able to move as fast as we had in just a week. Elijah had a house uptown, and he had managed to move all his belongings in there and in less than a week we were in a new 

mansion. 

It was a gorgeous mansion, it could almost be mistaken for a palace. It had a beautiful fountain right in front and a luxurious entrance, each room had the most beautiful chalnders designs I had ever come across. The atmosphere smelt like flowers and strawberry so I stepped into the kitchen where the house chef, Mr Dean, was preparing some dessert for tonight and he had given the kids a taste of the batter and their eyes widen at how delicious it tasted. The air was warm yet chilly at the same time, but I felt a kind of welcoming air. I loved how spotless everywhere was, and I smiled seeing a large piano in the ground thinking how it would be great for the kids to learn how to play. 

As we got settled in, I couldn’t help but stare at the kids as they jumped on their queen sized bed. It was so soft and they looked like they were having so much fun, I just smiled. It was so difficult having the conversation of us moving in but I have always been honest with my kids so I told them exactly how I felt about the situation and why I agreed. 

“I want you to have everything amazing in this life. I grew up with two parents…who…barely cared for me and I always had to beg for their attention. That’s why I always make sure to prioritize your wants and needs and love you two equally. I trust that Elijah would do the same understanding how hard it is for you two. But I will always be there to make things better and make sure you two are loved properly because if after a few months, you two aren’t happy there, then we will decide what to do next.” I told them and I instantly got embraced and kissed. 

They were truly the best gifts I was blessed with. 

“Come on, Mummy. You know you want to join us.” Amelia teased and I laughed dismissing her. 

“Come on…” They both dragged me and I giggle kicking off my brown ugg boots and got on the bed along with 

them. 

It had to be one of the most childlike moments for me, I felt like I was back in that age and I actually had friends or siblings I could do fun stuffs with rather than just being alone in my room drawing and sketching, and reading and begging Janet to join her and her friends in playing tag or tea parties and she would harshly slam the door in my face or embarrass me just to say ‘No’ or even push me without facing any consequences. 

This was more healing that I thought it would be. 

After jumping for a few moments of pure bliss, we heard someone clearing their throat, and I turned around and felt my cheeks get warm and embarrassment washed over me seeing Elijah standing by the door. 

“I’m sorry…I was knocking and didn’t get a response and wanted to make sure everything was alright.” He quickly apologized probably noticing the shift of energy in the room.
