HANNAH’S POV:
THE NEXT DAY:
The sun streamed through the curtains, soft and golden. Amelia had somehow rolled to the middle of the bed and had one arm flung across my stomach. I smiled and gently peeled her arm away so I could slip out without waking her.
I showered quickly, dressed in a brown blouse tucked into wide-leg cream pants, and tied my hair into a high ponytail. I kept the makeup light just enough to hide the fatigue in my eyes. Today was important.
This was the first time I was returning to my fashion company since I left the country seven years ago.
A lot had changed. I had built most of the company’s growth remotely through Lucas’s help and a trusted manager. But today wasn’t about oversight. Today, I was back. Officially.
I has remained anonymous with Lucas as my partner, and the mystery of who I actually was brought a lot of attention to the company. The company’s brand name was simply ‘Prestige’ meant to serve quality designs to celebrities, the elite and so many more tailored to majorly the female audience with production in shoes, bags and dresses. I had always had a thing for creating designs and making magic happen through my imagination and creativity.
Which explains why my fiction novel, “Her Dreams’ had sold over a million copies after its release and that was four years ago. When I released the second book as it was supposed to be a trilogy, “Her Ambitions’, it was sold out all over the world with high demands. I literally had a tour to sign books, have conversations on the female character and dozens of interviews in different parts of the world.”
I was successful and making it in everything I set my mind to do with Lucas, not just investing but supporting and I will be forever grateful to him.
We weren’t simply returning because I planned to officially divorce Elijah but because we had received a billionaire partnership from a new company here and we were supposed to meet with the partners in a few days. I was excited because I knew this deal would take the fashion company to a whole entire level anc I was so ready to see us excel.
I smiled as I recalled the first time Lucas and I met when I just arrived at the country, pregnant, lost and depending on my savings which I planned to do a lot with….I was scared it wasn’t going to be sufficient.
With eyes clouded with tears, I rolled my luggage and bumped into a man dressed in a blue suit and I wasn’t sure how strong I was but I managed to bump so hard into him that his phone came crashing. I was so apologetic but unbeknownst to me, that bump with that stranger would end up being a life changer for me,
“Mummy!” My thought was interrupted by the kids running to me in the dinning room while I sipped my tea.
Mister Flynn had already gotten the kids ready for the day. They were dressed and they were smelling so good, by the look on their faces it was glaring that they had been racing down here and I was getting tired of cautioning them.
“Mummy!” Andrew looked up bright-eyed, with his eyes like that if his father. “Are you going to work?”
“Yes, baby. Just for a few hours. I’ll be back before dinner.” I kissed both their heads.
