The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 1019

She tried to sidestep him, but Waller abandoned his car and immediately chased after her.

"Katrina Lester, what kind of attitude is that? I am your father! Are you just going to ignore me?"

Katrina still didn't acknowledge him, quickening her pace.

But Waller physically grabbed her, yanking her to a halt.

"What do you want?" Katrina finally looked up at him, violently shaking off his hand.

Waller was furious, his face dark and ugly as he demanded, "Why haven't you gotten back together with Naylor Wilson yet?"

"If you love him so much, why don't you go confess your feelings to him yourself?" Katrina snapped recklessly, letting her anger get the best of her.

"You—" Waller was instantly choked by his own rage, unable to speak.

Katrina turned on her heel to leave.

"You idiot! Naylor is actually willing to take you back, and instead of taking advantage of the opportunity to secure the bag, you're playing hard to get? Do you seriously think your half-dead mother is going to set you up on another blind date? You've already been married! Even if it was a flash marriage and a flash divorce, you're damaged goods now! Do you really think you're still in high demand? Naylor must be completely out of his mind to still be obsessed with you. If you don't take advantage of his temporary insanity to secure your future, he's not even going to look your way once he snaps out of it!"

Waller's words were vicious and vile. Katrina was furious and was just about to turn around and scream at him when she spotted a familiar figure standing just a few feet away. A quiet smirk formed in her mind.

Feigning indifference, she asked, "You think Naylor is completely out of his mind? Temporary insanity?"

"What else would it be? He's a notorious playboy. Everyone in our circles knows he's a womanizer. He's had countless girlfriends, and once he's bored, he never goes back to them, no matter how hard they beg! But for some reason, he's breaking all his own rules for you. If that isn't temporary insanity, what is?"

"Maybe I'm just that charming."

"Ha! You're my own daughter, but even I have to tell you the truth—with Naylor's status, he could find a woman prettier, with a better body and a better family background than you without even trying. You think you're charming? No matter how charming you are, you're still damaged goods. Honestly, I'm starting to think you have some sort of blackmail material on him. Why else would he be protecting you like this?"

Waller wasn't just brutally degrading his own daughter; he was openly insulting Naylor as well.

What he didn't know was that Naylor had heard every single word.

"Mr. Lester, I don't believe I've ever offended you, have I? Hearing you drag my name through the mud like this, you'd think I desecrated your family's gravesite." Naylor strolled over slowly, his voice deceptively calm, though his expression was dangerously dark and tense.

Waller froze completely. It was as if someone had just shot an arrow straight through his back. The color instantly drained from his face.

Waller clamped his mouth shut instantly, his face twisted in utter misery. "Mr. Wilson... Mr. Wilson, earlier was just a misunderstanding. I genuinely just wanted you two to reconcile..."

He continued to babble and beg, but Naylor had already lost all patience.

He walked over to Katrina, casually grabbed her hand, and looked over his shoulder.

His assistant, who had been driving slowly behind him, instantly hit the gas and pulled the car right up to them.

"Get in." He opened the door, ushering Katrina into the backseat.

Waller scrambled after them, continuing to beg. "Mr. Wilson, I apologize for what I said. I was just repeating rumors! I know you aren't that kind of man, or I wouldn't be trying so hard to get you and Katrina together!"

Naylor didn't believe a single word out of his mouth. Before getting into the car, he turned back and added one final warning. "And you are never to show your face in front of Katrina again either. Or I'll end you."

"Mr.—"

Before Waller could get the word out, the door of the Maybach slammed shut, and the car sped off into the night.
