The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 865

Jamison refused to believe his best friend was that kind of person. "How is he picking a fight? Katrina went on a date with another man behind his back. That's a fact. Your friend is the one who's in the wrong."

"Just because you see something doesn't make it the truth. Can't a person have a meal with a friend? Besides, Katrina explained everything, but he's still suspicious. If there's no basic trust in a relationship, it's just sad."

Seeing his wife get angrier, Jamison decided to stop arguing. At that moment, he felt a surge of resentment toward Naylor. This was completely uncalled for!

"Fine, it's his fault. The next time he comes, I'll join you in telling him off, okay?"

A wise man knows when to retreat. Jamison quickly switched sides, abandoning his friend to stand united with his dear wife. Ivy hadn't come here to fight about this anyway. Seeing her husband's agreeable attitude, her expression softened, and a smile touched her lips. "Alright. Just don't back out later."

Jamison watched his wife's mood change on a dime and silently congratulated himself on his brilliant decision. There was no point in dragging out an argument that could be resolved with a simple apology.

He pressed his advantage, his voice soft and pleading as he delivered his charming words. "Go get washed up. Stay with me tonight, hmm? I've missed you."

Often, "I've missed you" meant more than just the literal words.

Ivy gave him a seductive smile. "You're in this state, and you miss me? How exactly do you miss me? With what part of you?"

Jamison stared at her, feeling as though he'd been verbally assaulted. His normally shy wife was teasing him! After a few seconds of stunned silence, he recovered and shot back, "What part of me do you *want* me to use?"

It was just a bit of marital banter. He understood, he could play along, he would cooperate!
