Ivy finally snapped back to reality, her racing thoughts slowly settling.
She turned to study her husband, a sudden realization washing over her. "No wonder you insisted on dressing so formally this morning. You planned this! When did you even prepare the flowers?"
Jamison was sweltering by now. Listening to his wife, he shrugged off his suit jacket and rolled his shirt sleeves high up his forearms.
"The moment I found out you'd be giving the valedictorian speech, I set this all in motion," he said smoothly. "If I was going to attend, I wanted the full experience."
Ivy glared at him, wanting to scold him, but found herself completely out of ammunition.
After all, he had executed everything perfectly. Getting mad at this point would just make her seem ungrateful and unreasonable.
She pressed on, "And what about donating the library? When did you arrange that?"
It wasn't about the millions of dollars. Ivy loved making money, but she was no penny-pincher.
Besides, funding a university library was a deeply meaningful investment for future generations, and she fully supported it.
She was just astounded that he had managed to keep something this massive completely under wraps.
"I started looking into it right after you went back to school," Jamison explained. "Neo Haven University had been planning a new library but couldn't break ground due to budget constraints. When I approached the university board about making a donation in your name, they mentioned the project, so I just went ahead and covered the construction costs."
There was one detail Jamison conveniently left out.
As a token of their immense gratitude, the university had offered Ivy a special privilege—guaranteed admission to their graduate program for the fall semester.
Essentially, it was a free pass into grad school.
In truth, if Ivy's life hadn't been derailed years ago and she hadn't been forced to drop out, her stellar academic record would have easily secured her a spot in any top-tier finance master's program.
So, the university was really just doing her a very well-deserved favor.
But Ivy had no intention of pursuing a full-time degree right now. She planned to enroll in a part-time program after the babies were born.
She could only appreciate the kind gesture from afar for now.
Hearing all this, Ivy pressed her hands to her burning cheeks. "No wonder they chose me to speak today. You literally paved my way with gold."
"Not entirely. You're brilliant in your own right, and your personal story is incredibly inspiring. The board already held you in high regard."
After all, the intense media circus surrounding them had unintentionally put the university in the spotlight. Every time someone dug into her past, her alma mater got free publicity.
On top of that, securing a position at Vastmark International Capital with just a bachelor's degree was a jaw-dropping achievement, more than qualifying her for the outstanding graduate honor.
Every time Jamison praised her, Ivy felt the genuine depth of his words. It was never superficial flattery; it was pure, unadulterated admiration.
Overwhelmed with emotion, happy tears welled in her eyes. She gazed deeply at the man beside her, her expression softening into pure devotion. "Jamison..."
