The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 900

Naylor had been absolutely furious. He stormed into the wedding venue like the Grim Reaper, ignored the sea of guests, ignored Katrina's protests, threw her over his shoulder, and abducted her right in front of everyone.

Seeing her daughter's wedding ruined in such a spectacular fashion, Katrina's mother fainted from the sheer shock and had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency resuscitation.

Knowing he had caused a massive disaster, Naylor immediately contacted his parents and had Dr. Wilson pull every string available to bring in the best specialists to save Katrina's mother.

Once the older woman's condition stabilized, Naylor brought Katrina back to the hospital and offered his most sincere, groveling apologies.

But an apology was one thing; the truth still needed to be told.

Naylor handed over all the evidence his investigators had gathered abroad to Katrina's mother, forcing her to see exactly what kind of monster she had almost married her daughter off to.

At her age, Katrina's mother was still quite conservative.

So, when she saw proof of her hand-picked son-in-law's wild escapades overseas, her shock was beyond description.

Later, the man himself showed up at the hospital. Under intense interrogation from both families, he confessed to his colorful lifestyle.

Thankfully, the man still had a shred of conscience. Realizing his deception had gone too far, he offered a genuine apology to everyone involved.

He then quickly and cooperatively signed the annulment papers with Katrina.

Likely too ashamed to face his family and friends, the man went straight from City Hall to the airport and fled the country once again.

The entire ordeal was a massive blow to both Katrina and her mother. The older woman was consumed by guilt, horrified that she had nearly forced her daughter into a living hell.

And Katrina felt thoroughly disgusted every time she remembered how close she had come to tying herself to a man like that.

"I'm visiting my best friend and my godsons. Do I need to submit a report to you beforehand?" Katrina replied coldly, walking over to the cribs and gently playing with the babies, completely ignoring her ex-boyfriend.

That's right. To this day, Naylor was still strictly her ex-boyfriend.

Even though he had crashed her wedding and helped save her mother's life, months had passed, and they still hadn't officially announced that they were back together.

Occasionally, Naylor would take her out to dinner, but he always respectfully dropped her off at home right afterward.

Naylor had brought up marriage exactly once, but his phrasing had been disastrous: "If you absolutely need to get married to give your mom peace of mind, I can marry you."

Katrina was far too proud to accept a charity proposal like that, so she had shot him down without a second thought.
