The Villainess Needs a Hug (Ivy Windsor) novel Chapter 950

...

The cold war dragged on for three excruciating days.

Throughout those three days, Ivy continued to dutifully stay by his side, taking excellent care of him.

But she almost entirely refused to speak to him.

If he asked for water or food, she would serve it, but her movements were robotic—handing him the item and instantly walking away.

She spent her days reading, video-calling the kids, occasionally going home to see them, or scrolling through her phone, busy with God knows what.

Every now and then, Jamison would catch her smiling at her screen, clearly delighted by whoever she was texting, a soft, genuine smile lighting up her face.

Watching his wife treat him like a block of ice while flashing radiant smiles at her phone sent Jamison's imagination running wild.

Was she actually flirting with some younger guy?

Jamison had never once doubted his wife's devastating allure.

Even though she had been married for years and was the mother of three-year-old twins, her beauty and elegance had never faded.

If anything, she had only grown more breathtaking, oozing the sophisticated grace of a mature woman with every move she made.

Even though he saw her every single day, she still managed to leave him stunned and make his heart race. He could only imagine how desperate outside men were to get their hands on her.

Jamison was getting jealous.

He had, of course, considered the worst-case scenario.

If he really did die young, he genuinely wanted Ivy to find another good man, someone who could take his place and cherish his greatest treasure.

But the problem was, he was still alive.

And as long as he was alive, he could not stomach the idea of the woman he loved smiling at another man, even through a screen.

So, when he saw her smiling at her phone yet again, he finally snapped. "Who are you talking to that's making you so happy?"

Ivy ignored him, though the smile vanished from her face, replaced instantly by her icy demeanor.

Seeing her completely dismiss him sparked a flare of genuine anger in his chest. "I'm talking to you. Am I invisible?"

Ivy finally looked up at him, her expression completely devoid of warmth.

"Do you need water, or do you want food?" she asked.

Jamison was stunned. He was annoyed, but he knew she was doing this purely to provoke him, so he swallowed his temper. "Are my food and water the only things you care about now?"

Ivy shot back instantly, "I cared if you lived or died, but you didn't."

"..." Jamison was rendered entirely speechless.

As they stared each other down in tense silence, Ivy's phone vibrated. She blinked, broke eye contact, and looked back down at her screen.

A second later, that same smile crept back onto her face.

The blatant double standard instantly shattered the composure Jamison had maintained for three days.

After his cancer relapsed, Jamison had mentioned a few times that Edmond Shaw was a decent man who could help Ivy in her career. His underlying meaning had been painfully obvious.

Ivy had completely lost her temper and torn into him, forcing him to drop the subject and never bring it up again.

Now, being repeatedly mocked, Jamison was losing face fast.

Ivy stood up, snatched her phone back, and turned to leave for some fresh air.

Before she could reach the door, a wave of panic hit him. "Ivy, let's talk!"

Ivy stopped in her tracks, her back stiffening, but she didn't turn around.

Having no other choice, Jamison walked over to her.

He gently reached for her hand.

Ivy refused, violently yanking it away.

Patient and gentle, he grabbed it again, intertwining his fingers with hers so tightly she couldn't break free.

"Stop being angry. We need to have a real conversation."

Ivy's eyes instantly welled with tears. She turned her head, her vision blurring as she looked at him. "Talk about what? You've already made up your mind. There's nothing left to discuss."

Jamison didn't answer. Applying a gentle but firm pressure to her hand, he pulled her back toward the sofa.

They sat down together.
